Sunny Days Beach Mini Album

Hi friends! You know how much I love mini albums and if you love them like me, you will love today’s post! We have a super cute mini scrapbook from design team member, Ulli using Sunny Days. Read below for all of the details about how to make this cute mini book yourself!

Hi everyone, Ulli here with you today! I have so many photos from our Spring Break vacation in April 2018 at Mallorca and so I decided to make a cute travel mini album with the new beachy Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection.

To create my mini book I used a little leather album in pink (size 6 ¼ x 5 ½ inch). The page protectors in this album are 4 ¼ inch high and 4 ¾ inch wide and I really love this size. The album has two rings and I also like to add extra pages in other formats and without page protectors on them.

How to make: Sunny Days Beach Themed Mini Book

For the cover I used one of the Sunny Days stencils and the Maggie Holmes mint acrylic paint and I love how the design turned out on the pink leather of the album. I gave my mini book the title “Explorer” using one of the Sunny Days puffy stickers. I  decorated it with a paper flower, some stickers and the embossed die cut branch. I also stitched over it with pink yarn and my sewing machine to give it more texture. For the first page I used a big photo from the beach and made my title with the Sunlight Glitter foam stickers on the right side. I decorated this page with the super cute clear stickers and two shell stickers (sticker + chipboard sticker).I glued white cardstock on the back of the first page and decorated it with the beautiful floral washi tape, some stickers and the ephemera piece with the packing list. I also stamped the travel period with a date roller stamp on this page. On the other side I used a upright photo and decorated it only with the puffy words “Let’s go.” I did not punch holes in the photo but used two little pieces of the Explorer paper and punched two holes with my Crop a dile hole punch into them to file it later in my 2 ring album. Then I glued them between the front and the backside of this page. (see image below)On the next page I used the floral Charm paper and stitched a vellum pocket on it. I glued two photos from our flight back to back together and set an eyelet on the top of it. I fixed some blush bakers twine there. I also put the postcard ephemera piece into this pocket. On the other side I used a page protector with four pockets and put two photos and the printed journaling into them. I decorated it with one of those pretty Sunny Days ephemera pieces, the holographic washi tape and one of those adorable mini fruit clear stickers. For my page 4 I used a photo from the first morning in the hotel room and on the other side with my first photo from the way to the beach. To decorate this page I used the blue dot washi, the pretty Apple Blossom paper, a photo from the Blissful paper, some stickers and alphabet stickers and one of these super cute Rhinestone flowers from the Sunny Days collection.For the 5^th page in my album I used the pretty Carefree paper and three of the cute Sunny Days Washi tapes to make an interesting background on my white page. I used a circle die to punch out my photos and encircled two of them with the mint Sunny Days Acrylic paint. I love the embossed gold swallow and this color combination.Next I used another big photo and glued it on the backside from the last page. I decorated it with the pink ephemera flower and some leaves. On the bottom I glued three seashells in a row and I splattered gold paint across this page. I punched two holes in the “Vacay Vibes” ephemera piece and glued my journaling on the back. The other side is a page protector again. I filled one pocket with sand from the beach, another one with some sequins and two of them with little photos. I love to mix color photos with black and white photos in my projects. For page 7 I filled it with the Florentine paper in pink and blue and I fixed two little clouds with a stapler on the top of this page. Then I decorated it with some stickers. The other side of this double page is a big photo which I decorated with the wonderful Sunny Days butterfly stencil and the pink acrylic paint. I put some of the butterflies directly on the photo, some of them I cut out from white cardstock and stitched over them with my sewing machine. For the journaling a made a pocket on the next page and glued it on the little striped tag from the Sunny Days ephemera pack. I used the cute word stickers and the amazing Sunny Days Journal Runners to finish off this page. Page 8 is currently the last page in my mini album, but I am not done yet. I have more pages to make and will show you the rest of it later here on Maggie’s blog. For this page I used a circle punch to make a relief on the top of my photo. I stitched over the border with my sewing machine and made a pocket out of it. I glued the printed journaling on the little tag and decorated it with the cute Chipboard cherry sticker, some other stickers, enamel dots and the turquoise Sunny Days washi tape.I knew I wanted to use one of those adorable Sunny Days charms and I made a 2nd charm for the mini book with different embellishments. I used the chipboard butterfly and glued a sticker butterfly in the same size on its back. Then I punched it with my Crop a dile. I also hung two mini tassels from previous Maggie Holmes collections on the white bakers twine. I hope you like the first part of my vacation album and I could inspire you to use the wonderful Maggie Holmes Sunny Days supplies for a little mini book! Thank you for stopping by today. xo, Ulli
