Vacation Theme Mini Scrapbook

Mini Scrapbooks are perfect for vacation photos, summer photos, travel memories and more! You can take a whole set of your vacation or travel photos and create one complete vacation theme mini scrapbook with them! Read on for lots of great scrapbook page ideas using your beach theme photos from design team member, Ulli below! 

Hi friends, it’s Ulli here with you today sharing part 2 of my beach themed mini album! If you haven’t seen part 1 of this summer mini album, you can find it here!

Scrapbooking Tips:

• You don’t have to start and finish a whole album at once. You can set it aside for a few weeks or months and come back to it later! Sometimes when working on a big project like this, I need a break and don’t want to finish all at once. In this case I was making a scrapbook about our summer vacation. I created a large chunk of it and shared it here. After a 3 month break, I was ready to  finish it. Because I took a break, I felt refreshed and had so much fun creating the new pages!
• Set your project and supplies aside to come back to later. Make sure you reserve enough products to complete your album later on. Therefore, it’s a good tip to set aside the products so you don’t use them up on something else before completing your project. I used the gorgeous Sunny Days collection because it is perfect for vacation memories. I kept my album consistent and flowing by using the same set of products to complete my mini scrapbook.

How to Make this Cute Vacation Theme Mini Scrapbook:

We have lots of photos today showing you how to make your vacation mini scrapbook album. For each page, I have kept the text and instructions simple as you can follow along mostly with the photo examples. I will also share the supplies needed as we go! Okay, let’s start!

Vacation Theme Mini Scrapbook Page Ideas:

• Page 1 – I used the Happy Place paper and a small paper strip from the colorful cameras paper. I typed my journaling which is a story about the forgotten toothbrushes and toothpaste for the children.
• The other side is a little title page for our second day. We rented a car for 2 days and I used a photo with our children in the back seats of the car. I used the Sunlight Alphabet Glitter Stickers and the small Alphabet Stickers from the Willow Lane collection. This little Willow Lane alphabet is perfect to glue little titles in small pages of mini scrapbooks.

• Page 2 – Next I used the Weekend patterned paper and a family photo cut in a circle shape. I decorated this page with some chipboard stickers, clear stickers, cardstock stickers and the Sunny Days Rhinestones.
• For the other side I punched holes in the Die Cut Alpha letter C so I could include it as a “page” in the album. I used this letter for my heading “Cap Formentor” – the place where we went on this day. Behind the C is a big picture which I decorated with more stickers.

• Page 3 – I used the super cute 6×8 paper with the peaches. I kept it simple with a black and white photo, a little bit of washi tape, a clear sticker, some sequins and the adorbale rhinestones in pink.
• Next on the other side I used one of the Die Cut Alphas and made a pocket with it. I used it for my title and then the backside is page 4. see below.

• Page 4 – This is the back of the die cut alpha page. I made it into a pocket to hold the many photos of our sightseeing trip to the city Sóller.
• For the other side of this spread I used a page protector with 4 small square photo spaces.

Bonus Scrapbook Ideas for Your Mini Album:

• Add Pockets to Hold Extra Photos – You can see in the page above how many extra photos I was able to include by making a pocket out of the page.
• Decorate Photos with Washi Tape – A quick and easy cute idea for decorating photos is to add a strip of washi tape along one edge. It gives the photos a little something extra but doesn’t take much time at all!

Travel  Theme Mini Scrapbook Page Ideas Continued:

• Page 5 – Continuing on, for page 5 I used two black and white photos on the left side and a colored one cut in a cicrle shape for the right side.
• The paper with the umbrellas and swim suits matches so perfectly to beach photos. I decorated it with a sunglasses sticker and some other beach theme stickers.

• Page 6 – The next double page is also filled with beach photos and I put a shaker pocket with different sequins in one of the pockets. I love to use shaker pockets in my mini albums – they are always an eye catcher!

• Page 7 – Next up is a double page with 8 pockets and I filled some with photos and some with pattern papers. Here I used the amazing Sunny Days Journaling Runners and a small puffy alphabet in gold from the Gather collection.

• Page 8 – This page is filled with a photo from all the sand tools from our children and the other side with a family photo on the beach.
• I cut one of these wonderful flower stickers in 4 pieces and glued it on the edges/borders of the photo.
• On the top you see two of the Chasing Dreams Stickers. I try to use my previous Maggie Holmes collections too sometimes. You’ll find that they are so versatile– you can mix and match a lot of things together!

• Page 9 – For the next double page spread I focused on the big photos and made another pocket with one of them.
• I also used another Die Cut alpha to mark day 5 of our vacation.

• Page 10 – Page 10 is the back of the Die cut alpha so I backed it with a small photo in the same size.
• On the other side I decorated the photo pocket with some of these wonderful butterflies I fussy cut out of the 6×8 paper.
• Inside the pocket I placed a tag. This tag with the shells is from the Happy Place Patterned Paper. Isn’t it cute!?

Bonus Scrapbook Tip:

The patterns from the 6×8 paper pad are smaller and are therefore perfect to decorate small pages of mini scrapbooks.

• Page 11 – And finally, the last page of the album is the back of the photo pocket.  I used the wonderful green Wander paper and my circle punches for the photos.
• Next I printed out my journaling and glued it on the back side of the tag. Then I fixed a black and white striped ribbon on it and decorated the photos with the “Look on the sunny side” sticker from the big Sunny Days Sticker Sheet.
