DIY Rolled Paper Flowers

Hey there, it’s Kathleen back with you again, and today I have another floral scrapbook layout to share with you. The thing I always love the most about Maggie’s collections, are the gorgeous florals! For my first layout with the new Sunny Days products I fussy cut some of the flowers from the Splendor paper. But for today’s layout I wanted to do something a little bit different.

Details for Making DIY Rolled Paper Flowers:

I used the Beach Day, Parasol, Seaside and Coral papers and my Silhouette die cutting machine to make some rolled paper flowers in different sizes. I absolutely love the combination of the yellow and dark blue together with the pink and I think they work really well as flowers. For the leaves I also used my Silhouette machine and the Wander paper. Tips for how to make these DIY rolled paper flowers: You’ll first want to find a cut file for your Silhouette that specifies it is for making DIY rolled paper flowers specifically. Next you will load your paper and use the cut file to die cut out the pieces. After you have the paper cut, you will roll them as shown and use adhesive at the back to hold it all together. Next you can use your fingers to shape and fluff them out a bit until you are happy with how they look!After I was done cutting and rolling all the flowers, I decided on the photo I wanted to use. I knew that I had to do something to make it stand out from all those 3D flowers but at first I had no idea how. Then I remembered that I had a mini embroidery hoop in my stash that I was saving for something special.The hoop measures about 5″, so I sized and printed my photo accordingly. From there it was actually pretty quick and easy. All I needed to do was arrange the flowers around the hoop and then add some final embellishments. I wanted the rolled paper flowers and the hoop with my photo to be the main focus on this layout, so I kept the rest quite simple. I just added in some leaves from the clear sticker book, as well as one from the puffy thickers. For the title I also used the puffy thickers set. The “xoxo” and “best day ever” stickers had the perfect size and fit the theme of this page rather well, too. Oh, and for the background I used the Splendor paper again, just like for my last layout. It’s just such a perfect paper to use for a background! I must admit, I am so pleased with how this page turned out. It’s probably one of my Top 3 scrapbook layouts I ever made, maybe even my absolute favorite. I hope you liked this project! Thanks a lot for stopping by!
