Hey there, it’s Kathleen back with you and today I have my first project to share with the gorgeous new “Sunny Days” collection! I’m so excited about this collection! The colors and patterns are so fun and bright and perfect for many different themes and projects!
One of the patterned papers that first caught my eye was the Splendor paper with the beautiful florals that basically screamed to be fussy cut. However, the backside is really lovely too because it looks like a patterned paper that has been partly covered with paint or gesso, which makes for the perfect background.
So that’s what I did. I used the backside of the Splendor paper as the background of my layout and then fussy cut a few of the flowers on the front side (luckily I have a few copies of this paper 😉 ) to use as embellishments.
I created two flower clusters with the flowers I had fussy cut. Behind some of them I used foam tape to add some dimension and depth to the page, and I also tucked in a few more leaves from the same paper and from the different stickers that you get in the collection.
I also used a few small stickers to add in between the flowers, as little accents, and some of the cute heart chipboard stickers in coordinating colors. For the title I mixed a sticker from the clear sticker book with the beautiful glitter gold alpha thickers. Isn’t the font of these just amazing?
Finally, for adding my journaling I created some lines with one of the two journal runners. I love these little things! One creates a dotted line, on which you can write your journaling, and the other makes lots of cute phrases like “love this” or “the little things”, so it’s perfect for any occasion!
