New Creative Card Ideas

Hi there! Today I have some cute new creative card ideas for you! I love to make handmade greeting cards ahead of time so I always have some when I need them! Cards are also an easy and fun craft project to make with friends or with your kids. My girls love to get out the crafting supplies and play with all the cute stickers and papers. And cards are a good paper craft for kids to start with because of the small format.

I used my new Heritage Collection for both of these cute cards! Don’t you just love working with new scrapbook supplies? It makes things easy and fun when you are inspired to work with new products!

New Creative Card Ideas Using Maggie Holmes Heritage:

This Interactive Shaker Style Card is actually fairly easy to make! Don’t you love the sequins inside? I love making cards like this that are interactive and fun! You can put a gift card, some money or photos inside the pocket along with the sequins!

How to Make this Shaker Style Greeting Card:

• Create the card base with a paper from the Heritage 6×8 paper pad. This paper pad is perfect for card makers! Just tear out a sheet, fold it in half and you have a card base ready to go! No trimming required!
• Create the shaker element of your card: This is the easy part because the vellum envelope pocket is already made for you! It’s in my Heritage Stationary Pack right here. Next, I added a piece of book paper behind and attached it to the card. The cute sewing around the edges is also already done for you!!
• Embellish the bottom portion of the shaker envelope: I made the swan and “love you” sentiment with the Heritage stamp and die set. Also the layered flower and leaves are from this paper and here is the cute washi tape.

How to Make this Layered Greeting Card with Gold Foil Flowers:

• First, I used this 6×8 paper pad again for the card base. I love products that make card making easy!
• I also used the Heritage Stationary Pack again for this card. That’s where the large piece with the gold foil flowers is from. It is a journaling card, but I used scissors to cut out the inside, making it a frame.
• Then I backed the frame with book paper and glued it to the front of the card. I stitched round the edges with my sewing machine.
• Next, I cut out the pink and peach flower from this paper to embellish the card. I also used one of these dimensional gold glitter butterflies that I love so much! The label and word stickers are from this clear sticker book.
• Card Making Tip: I wanted the clear label to be more like a die cut so that it wasn’t stuck all the way down on my card. So I first placed it on a piece of plain white paper and then cut it out. Finally, I also used these 3d foam adhesive dots to give the flower dimension as well.
