Colorful Travel Scrapbook Page

Hi crafty friends! It’s Ulli here with you on the Maggie Holmes Blog to share a new colorful travel scrapbook page with you! I have so many photos from our holiday in June and I also love the summer season! Because of that I decided to work with the Sunny Days collection to make a pretty colorful vacation scrapbook layout.

I love this photo with the wonderful Balinese Temple with the blue fabric and the yellow parasol. The culture there is amazing and when I look at this picture I can still smell the joss sticks, rice and tropical flowers. The fun bright colors match perfectly with the summer theme and travel theme scrapbook products in the Sunny Days collection. I also immediately thought of using this Parasol pattern paper with the colorful sunshades. It’s so cute!

How to Make this Cute Colorful Vacation Theme Scrapbook Page:

• First of all, I decided to use this pattern paper with sections for photos and journaling. With papers like this it´s so fun to make a scrapbooking layout, because it’s so easy!  The design layout is already there for you and ready to go!
• Next I printed my 5×8 photo and glued it on the left side of the paper.
• Third, I fussy cut nearly all the parasols from the Parasol Paper. I moved them around on my layout until I liked the placement and then glued them down. Scrapbook Tip: You can tuck some of the beach umbrellas under the photo and layer some onto the edges of the photo too. Also, you can use these 3d glue dots to add some dimension. 

• Fourth, I glued my big title with these pretty black Puffy Alphabet Stickers and stamped the date under it with a roller date stamp. 
• I wrote my journaling with a black fine liner on the journaling section of the paper. Also, I glued a part of the wide black and white Washi tape above the phrase “Sunny Summer Moments.”

How to Embellish Your Cute Travel Theme Scrapbook Page:

• I used a variety of stickers and embellishments to decorate my vacation scrapbook layout. I used these stickers, the clear Sunny Days Stickers and this yellow Thread bow from the Willow Lane collection.
• Scrapbook Tip: Remember, you can mix and match different collections even if they have a different theme. Look for elements that coordinate and match in color and you are good to go! For example, the yellow thread bow matches perfectly with the yellow parasol in my photo! 
• Also I used some enamel dots, these glossy puffy stickers and these super cute wax seals in gold from the Heritage Collection.
• Scrapbook Tip: Use a mixture of different scrapbook embellishments to add variety and texture! For example, I used this cute pink tissue paper flower in addition to the thread bow and the wax seal. Each of these adds a unique touch instead of only using flat things like paper and stickers.
