Hi friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing all the new Sunny Days products! Today we are taking a little break from that and sharing something super cute to inspire you! We have a darling scrapbook page from design team member, Kathleen, and all the bright fun colors are definitely making me smile today!! I love how she used her Willow Lane supplies to create a rainbow color effect on her page! It turned out so cute don’t you think! Read on for all the details!!
Hey there and Happy New Year! It’s Kathleen here again and for my first layout of the new year I wanted to do something fresh, bright and colorful. So what’s better than creating a rainbow?
I began by cutting out a floral cut file design from white cardstock. I knew I wanted it to be the main element on my layout, but I started out with a different color scheme in mind. To be honest, I’m not sure why I changed it, but I am sure glad I did! Tthe colorful embellishments from the Willow Lane collection were perfect to add all over the page. I chose to color-coordinate them, meaning I placed yellow embellishments on the yellow section, pink on pink, etc. Since I used so many different colors on this layout, I didn’t want to mix and scatter them all over the place and make this page too busy.
Since the photo I scrapped on this layout is about our home, the cute little houses from the Cottage paper were the perfect accents to add. I cut out a coral red and a light blue one, and also used a pink house from the Cardstock Stickers and a smaller one from the Puffy Stickers. For my title I mixed the gold foil thickers with the smaller cardstock alpha stickers to match the blue section at the bottom of my page.
To make the cut file pop off the page a little more, I used a foam blending tool and ink pads in matching colors to add some shading around each flower. Finally, because the right side of the layout felt kind of empty and the page a little unbalanced, I tore a strip off the right side of the white cardstock and backed it with a strip from the Spread Love paper. This paper was perfect because it had all of the colors in it that I used on my page.
