I have to admit that doing laundry is not my favorite. It’s the chore that never ends… no beginning and never any end in sight…. and always more dirty clothes lurking in the kids’ rooms even when I think I’ve gathered them all! But there is something about a stack of fresh clean clothes. It feels good when it’s done and I do feel extremely thankful for the little ones that wear those clothes. I know that someday my piles of dirty clothes will become drastically smaller and I will miss having a house full of kiddos and the laundry they come with.
I kinda do love washing baby clothes though. They are teeny tiny and oh so cute! Seeing a pile of Henry’s itty bitty clothes all folded and neat puts a big smile on my face! Some of my baby boy essentials (pictured below) include footed rompers (perfect for sleeping and for cuddling those first weeks and months), burp rags (loving these cute ones by Wren & Rumor), onesies + soft pants (I’m all about soft and comfy clothes for newborns), & lots of cuddly + cute blankets (this one’s especially sweet because it was handmade for baby Henry by a dear friend).
I’ve been frustrated recently with how quickly my whites become dingy and how easily baby clothes get stained. And even though Henry isn’t eating foods yet, his clothes get soiled from the frequent spitting up. He’s also on soy formula, which has more of a yellow coloring to it and I feel like it stains so easily! I’ve been trying different laundry detergents every time I need new because I had yet to find a favorite that I felt really worked. So when Persil ProClean recently sent me their new detergents to try, I was definitely willing to give it a go. It couldn’t hurt right?
I did a little research and some snooping on instagram and found that Persil is quite popular and loved outside of the US, including Germany where it was developed in 1907, and where my husband used it on his mission before we were married! Interesting connection!
After using it for the first time I was super excited about a couple of things >> my whites were definitely noticeably whiter without using any bleach or stain removers & the clothes smelled great! I continued using it and trying the different forms (power liquid, power pearls and power caps) throughout the day on my many loads of laundry and continued to be impressed with the results. It’s the first time I haven’t pre-treated any of the clothes with stain remover and I didn’t have anything that needed to be rewashed! I am sold!
Persil is now available here in the US exclusively at Walmart. I will be stocking up, that’s for sure and highly recommend giving it a try! No more testing out different brands for me!
