Easy Tag Mini Scrapbook

Hi crafty friends, it’s Ulli here with you today and I am so happy to share a new mini scrapbook album with you. I am showing you how to create a mini scrapbook out of tags today. This cute little mini album uses the Heritage Stationary Pack and is a great way to scrapbook birthday photos!

This mini scrapbook album made out of tags is very easy and doesn’t take much time to make! You will definitely love the adorable scrapbook you have in the end! Ok, let’s flip through this little birthday themed tag mini book together. And I will share with you how each page comes together and any special scrapbooking techniques I used.

How to Make This Cute and Easy Tag Mini Scrapbook Album:

• My Favorite Embellishment from the Heritage Collection – This adorable stationary pack is definitely a favorite from Heritage! Each piece is designed with so much love and everything so unique and wonderful! You will see I used this set a lot throughout my mini album.

How to Make the Cover of your Mini Album:

• First I chose a tag for my cover. I picked this cute floral tag in pink and blue from the stationary set. Then I decorated my cover with a piece white tulle and stitched it on with my sewing machine.
• Next I embellished the cover with a die cut shape, one of the adorable portrait silhouette charms and some gold sequin leaves.
• Third I used white card stock and some leaves metal dies to make my own paper branches. Then I added the cute gold glitter butterfly and these black foam alphabet stickers on top.
• Finally I set a pink eyelet in the tag and used a light blue book binding ring – size 1.75″.

Steps for Making the Inside Pages of this Easy Tag Mini Scrapbook:

• 1  (Back of Cover) – I used a big photo and decorated it with Heritage Butterflies that I fussy cut from the Recollection paper. I also used one of these gold embossed die cuts from the Sunny Days collection.
• 2 – Next is a tag I made with a metal die and floral embossing folder. I used these gold and black alphabet stickers to add my title. This is such a great alphabet sticker set! The size is perfect! Finally I embellished it with one of these cute little pink paper flowers and a pretty pink rose from the die cut shapes.

• 3 (Back of Tag 2) – The next page is simply built off of the back of the previous tag. I did this throughout – flipping over the tag and using the back of it for the next page base. So basically, you are only creating a new “page” every other tag. I added another photo onto this tag and decorated it with a bow from the Olive paper. Additionally, I also used some stickers from the Flourish collection.
• 4 – Following next is a prize ribbon banner that I fussy cut from this Heritage Prize Ribbon Paper with Gold Foil Accents.

• 5 (Back of Tag 4) – For this page I added my typed journaling and a horseshoe sticker.
• 6 – Next I made a tag using some leftover fabric from my daughter’s curtains! Here’s a scrapbooking tip for you. A good die cutting machine can also punch through materials other than paper, like fabric! Here’s a tag die set with all sizes of tags you can die cut! I placed the fabric tag on white card stock to give it some stability and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. I also decorated it with some ephemera pieces and pink sequins.

• 7 (Back of Tag 6) – This one is simple.I added a photo on the back of the pink fabric tag and decorated it.
• 8 and Decorative Elements – Next I wanted to add some decorative pieces to the mini book. First I put in a small prize ribbon from the ephemera pack. Then I included a charm made with twine, a Sunny Days flower charm, a wooden pearl and pink tassel. Finally I added in a tag I made from the wonderful gold foil floral pattern on vellum from the Willow Lane collection.

• Back of Tag 8 – Since this was a vellum tag, I didn’t add anything to the back of it.
• 9 – This tag focuses on the photo! I embellished it with a paper clip from my stash and the cute Heritage stickers. I really love the photo corner stickers. They are such an adorable detail to add on every project!

• 10 (Back of Tag 9) – Next I used another big photo and accented it with washi tape and stickers – easy and simple!
• 11 – For this page I simply cut out a tag from this Heritage paper. It has lots of great tags and pieces that are perfect for mini scrapbook albums!

• 12 (Back of Tag 11) – I cut out another tag from the same paper and placed it on the back of the previous tag. Next I added a photo and some cute little stickers.
• 13 and 14 (Back of Tag 13) –  I love this specialty paper from Heritage! It has gold glitter polka dots on transparent acetate paper and is so pretty! I made a tag out of it and added a photo to the front and the back. Tip: Cut your photos to the same size so that they match up perfectly on the front and back of the transparent tag. I also added some vellum pieces and clear stickers. I love these clear elements because the photos still show through!

•  15 – Here is another handmade tag I made with a bow embossing folder and my die cut machine. I love all of the bows in the Heritage collection! I added this cute chipboard piece and that was it!

 

• 16 (Back of Tag 15) – This is another simple scrapbook page to make – photos and some stickers. Are you seeing a pattern yet? When making your easy tag mini scrapbook, you can even create a few of the same type of tags at once. Then just distribute them throughout the album so they are mixed in among other pages.
• 17 – See notes for Tag 6. Tip: You can repeat tags and designs in an album like this to simplify things! Once you find a rhythm or design you like, repeat it again and again!!

• 18 (Back of Tag 17) – Using this cut out paper with tags again, I cut out the piece with the lilac frame and bow. I wanted to use it to frame my photo so I cut out the inside with my scissors. Then I placed my photo behind the frame and adhered it onto the back of Tag 18.
• 19 –  I also added another prize ribbon here (partially pictured above). However I used the yellow one this time and added two of the vintage stamps stickers on the back.
• 20 – Finally, the last page of the mini album! Yay! I used the wood grain pattern pocket from the Stationary Pack. You’ll notice that I trimmed the top down a little and cut the top corners to give it a tag shape. I also used the small green polaroid from from the stationary pack and placed a little photo inside. The cute pink thread bow is from the Willow Lane collection. Additionally, I put three photos from my daughter’s birthday party inside the pocket. Tip: The envelopes and pockets in the Stationary Pack are perfect for adding extra photos, journaling and interactive elements to your scrapbooks!
