Creative Inspiration to Brighten Your Day

Who’s ready for some beautiful scrapbooking inspiration today? Today we have a lovely layout to share with you from design team member, Kim. I know everyone is probably in the full swing of the holidays right now (like I am), but sometimes it’s nice to have a break creatively from all things Christmas and work on something completely different! If your winter weather is cold and gloomy, it’s especially fun to escape that for a bit by pulling out some bright colors and things that remind you of warmer weather to work with on a layout or card or any other paper crafting project. I know that this little escape in my scrapbook studio does wonders to brighten my day and boost my creative energy when I need a little break!

Hello everyone, it’s Kim here to share a page with you today!  I always love a wash of color, from light watercolors to something a little more bold like jewel tones.  It really depends on my mood and what I’m working on at my desk at the time.  My watercolors are pretty much always out and I paint everyday so it’s not uncommon for me to grab some cardstock and try something out.  In this case I wanted to use a simple wash of lavender around the edge of my page.  Sometimes you just love a color and want to present that on a page.  I thought this light lavender was really pretty. I also used a stencil to create a pretty floral effect on parts of my page.

I added a few painted flowers from Maggie’s Carousel collection and some watercolor elements.  For the flowers, I simply took the die cut flowers from the ephemera pack and painted them with watercolor paints. It turned out really pretty and light, just what I was going for. Thanks for stopping by today!Happy Thursday Friends!
