Pretty Packaging > Florals & Fringe Hearts

Can I just say how happy I am that DIY packaging, gift wrap and handmade cards are still popular!?? It’s not to say I don’t love the conveniences of the modern day and technology, but there are some things that are simply better with a handmade touch…. and packaging is one of those things for me… and for my design team! Even if you use cute premade wrapping paper and/or embellishments, the art of how you put it together becomes unique to you and I love that! Jessy has such a pretty packaging post to share with us today in which she uses pattern paper as her wrapping paper! So fun! She also uses some ready made embellishments along with the large fringe heart that she made herself (similar to these ones from my Bloom collection). I love how she used crepe paper and regular paper for her fringe heart! And then the way she layered it all together is simply perfect! Read on for the full tutorial!

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and it’s time to honor my awesome hubby! I truly appreciate the LOVE my hubby has been showering me all these years! Knowing me, I’ll have to make it all pretty because that surely puts a smile on his face. I love that he appreciates good packaging & design too! He is really made for me. I thank God for him everyday.    As always, I will spend some time to look at the products & see what I can create with them. This patterned paper Be Happy started the idea of creating a heart fringe. It was really easy to make one too! To wrap the box, I used My Darling paper. The plus designs go really well against the pretty colours.

For my heart, I alternated between patterned paper and crepe for the extra fun texture! I didn’t want to just leave the heart as it is, so I decided to add flowers.

Just by layering papers, stickers & ephemera shapes, that will help a lot with the textures and dimensions on the gift packaging. And of course, layering your elements together will create the full look to your project! Thanks for coming by! Happy Heart Day! xoxo Jessy

Happy Friday!
