WOW was my first reaction when I saw this layout by Kim! I am absolutely loving black lately and how it adds such a great pop of contrast to whatever you place it with! I have been adding bits of black and white to my home decor and you will also notice lots of touches of black in the Open Book collection as well. Kim has also used black in such a fabulous way here by painting right on her layout with chalkboard paint. I just LOVE how it makes the other colors in the page really pop and stand out!! I think one of my very favorite mediums is watercolor and that’s followed closely by chalkboard paint! It’s definitely a trend that I cannot seem to let go of. I love the black contrast it creates along with bright colors and fun embellishments. Chalkboard paint shows them off in just the right way and is always great to write on using a white gel pen.
