Creating Keepsakes has a new special issue out that focus on mixed media! It is super inspiring if you want to try out some new techniques and mediums that go beyond the norm…. Here is a sneak peek into the issue: Open publication – Free publishing – More art mediums And here is a peek at a project I made for this issue: The butterfly shape was punched out and then I filled it with little microbeads. Here are the steps if you want to try this technique yourself: 1. Punch out your desicred shape. 2. Use foam circles or another dimensional adhesive to adhere the punched paper to another solid sheet of cardstock or paper. You will want to outline the whole shape (on the back of the paper with the foam circles to create a sort of barrier to block the microbeads from sliding underneath and getting lost behind the paper where you can't see them. 3. Fill the shape now with diamond glaze or another liquid adhesive and pour in the microbeads. You will want to keep adding the diamond glaze and beads until you fill up the opening to the top.
