Today I am sharing with you a tutorial for creating a pocket of gold sequins in the shape of a deer head, as I did on this layout from my November Studio Calico gallery. It's really quite simple if you have the right tools and supplies: patterned paper, sequins, vellum, a Silhouette die cut machine, and a sewing machine (or you could hand stitch). Before starting on the pocket, you have to first cut out the shape from your patterned paper using the Silhouette. I used the deer head shape from the Cuppa printable sheet. I pulled the file into my Silhouette software and traced it so that I could cut it. Position the cut to be where you want it for your layout. This could be anywhere on the page, but I chose to do it toward the upper right corner. It's a little hard to see here but you can tell that I brought in the printable image and then the traced outline in red is what you see on the grid where the Silhouette is going to cut.
