Amanda has another fabulous project for us today using the new Open Book Collection!! I just can’t get enough inspiration from these talented ladies using the new products!! As we all know by now, she is the queen of sending happy mail and this project is no exception to that!! I know that I would absolutely LOVE to get one of these layered DIY thank you notes in the mail!! It would be such a fun experience just to look at each layer and discover all of the beautiful things she used for each card!!
Hi Friends! I am a big believer in thank you notes. Although I might not get them sent out on a timely manner, I still feel it’s important to send them. Today I am excited to share with you a few layered thank you + hello notes I created using the Open Book collection!
When sending mail, I love to make the “happy mail” experience more then just an exciting envelope in the mailbox. If you’re like me, seeing a colored envelope stuck in between all of the bills and junk mail is pretty exciting!! Instead of making a traditional folded card, I wanted to create a card that was flat and full of layers and textures.
To begin making my layered cards I gathered patterned paper, embelishments and a few of my favorite accessories.
Starting with my patterned paper on the bottom I added a glassine bag to the top and then added a few instax prints inside the bag. I just love my instax printer and find myself adding prints to a lot of my projects. On the bottom of the glassine bag I added a circle thicker with the recipients initial or the & sign for fun.
Next I added a manilla tag that I typed a message on. I also added some thin twine to the top. Using black paper and embossing powder I created another black polka dot tag. I love all the pops of black in the Open Book collection and wanted to incorporate that into the layers!
Before putting on the final touches to the card, I added a cute floral piece of paper. I love that a lot of these layers can be enjoyed by the recipient and reused in their crafty creations!!
Lastly, I added a floral embellishment and a gold paper clip to hold the card together. Using my roller stamper I stamped hearts and a typed “hello friend” or “thank you” to add to the top to finish off the card.
I hope this project has inspired you today, and maybe to send someone special a little “hello” or “thank you” happy mail note!
