I’ve always loved the color yellow!! Isn’t it just such a happy color? I know it makes me happy whenever I use it in my home or in fashion or in my crafting!! I love how Kim used the color yellow here on her scrapbook layout >> creating a bright background for her photo and the other elements! It really makes everything pop!! Also notice, the cute gold and wood veneer hearts? They are in this embellishment jar from the Open Book collection. The shop images don’t really show all that is in this product. I am working on a little video so you can see all the cute things in there >> vintage buttons, 3 rolls of fabric tape, gold and wood veneer hearts and mini gold clothespins!!
With all the cloudy and cold days we’ve been having around I suddenly wanted to use some pretty yellow and golds on a new page. Yellow is such a happy color… perfect for this fun photo of my niece. I’ve been using pinks and greens for so long and finally felt the need to switch things up a bit. I used acrylic paints for the background of this page in two complimentary shades. I attempted to make a sort of ombre effect but I ended up blending too much. I love the pretty stained yellow effect though. Painting a small square in the middle or in a certain area on your page gives you a good starting point for placing your embellishments. I wanted to use lots of the gold rub ons in the Open Book collection so I added them to the top of my painted area. I added my photo and a few die cut pieces as well.
To add a little something extra I found a tiny art board and made a little painting to add to my page. It just adds a little interest and also provided me with a cute title. You can use a piece of canvas or thick watercolor paper to make you own little painting to add to your page. For this page I also added some of the fun gold stickers around my photo. Yellows and golds are fun colors, you can use a little or a lot!
Thanks for stopping by today!
