Watercolor Love in Shades of Green

One of the things I love most about scrapbooking is how much creativity is involved and how you can do it in such a way that is completely unique and personal to you! There is no set “cookie cutter” way to scrapbook or record your memories! You can keep it simple and streamlined or you can go all out and play with different mediums, techniques and all kinds of art supplies! I also love that it’s a place where you can be free to infuse other forms of art like painting! The sky is the limit so don’t be afraid to try something new. I love how Kim incorporates her love + talent for watercolor painting into her memory keeping. It not only becomes a way for her to document photos and stories, but a place for her to be creative, play with new ideas and express her unique creative style! And every time I see her projects, I’m immediately inspired to pull out my paints and get to playing!! Love that!

I just love adding a bit of watercolor to my pages. A quick and easy way is to just add a few stripes of color to your page and then add your embellishments around it. For this page I used a few green shades along with a little glitter in spots. I also used my glue tape dispenser in spots and shook glitter along these areas. It’s so quick and easy and it’s a pretty good glue for glitter.

I’m not a big stamper but I do love a good word stamp and I love the look of using it a lot on a page. Here I layered the words around my photo! It’s a fun look along with some small platters of paint. Using a wash of watercolor or small amount of paint can add such a unique touch!
