Studio Calico > Office Hours Reveal

For all of you that are ready for Spring, I do believe that the Office Hours kits will help take you there…. at least in a creative sense! I am loving the bright fresh colors and also loving the brand NEW products from CHA that are popping up in the kits already!

Office Hours Scrapbook Kit, Mister Huey's Ocean, Mister Huey's Navy, Printable Labels

I had fun creating this 2 page layout and will be sharing a tutorial with you here on the blog soon to show you exactly how I created this one.

Office Hours Scrapbook Kit, Silhouette Cameo, Cut File

I fell in LOVE with this cut file the instant I saw it and knew that I had to feature it in a MAJOR way!! I love how it turned out!

QUICK TIP >> Because this is a pretty detailed and intricate cut, it is important to have a sharp blade and a fresh cutting mat! I learned this the hard way when I first tried cutting it because my mat and blade were a bit older. Lucky for me, I had just recently ordered both a new blade and mat and had them ready to go! This is the difference between cutting it with the new vs the old!

You can see that the first time (with the old blade & mat) the letters didn't cut all the way through and a lot of them were torn rather than cut. I even tried cutting that one 3 times through and it still came out like this. The left side is a one time cut with the same settings (for cardstock) but with the new blade and mat. I think the biggest key is having an extra blade & mat on hand when you get to this point because if you are like me, you don't have anywhere close by that you can run and get one! If I didn't have the new ones, I would have had to scrap this project altogether and move on, which would have been a bummer because I LOVE how this came out!! Lesson Learned >> Order extras of the mats and blades so you have them when you need them!!

Coffee Break Kit, To Do Kit

Both of these add on kits have brand new elements from my new Styleboard collection and things from the new Dear Lizzy collection! So fun!

Big surprise that I used both of the cloud papers that showed up in the kits! I think they are just perfect as backgrounds! The one above is from my new collection and the one below is from Webster's Pages and I think it is simply beautiful!

Office Hours Card Kit, Water Cooler Kit

I also used the negative piece leftover after cutting the Confetti Die out of vellum for this one.

QUICK TIP >> I used the brand new Color Theory Inks on this one and just love the colors! I got the variations of tones by stamping the circle once with full ink and then stamping again without reinking. This gives you the second stamped image at a lighter tone of the same color! I used Blush Crush, Coral Bay and Mint Hint.

The set of wood veneer banner pieces that fit perfectly with the stamps are brilliant! I used them here… first stamping the sentiment and then stamping the banner outline to finish it off!

Splattered a bit of Mister Huey's ink on this one at the end to give it some texture!

Some extras not shown here, but that I am LOVING are the Instagram Craft Die, Geotags Craft Die Set, this alphabet stamp and the Spreadsheet Project Life Add On Kit.

Just a heads up as I am posting this after the PRESALE for subscribers has already happened, it looks like ALL of the add ons sold out in a snap! Be sure to check back at reveal for remaining stock and be ready to choose and check out quickly! I have a feeling it will all be gone again fast! And for those that want a chance to get things early at the presale, you may want to pick one of the kits and become a subscriber

Studio Calico kits are available for purchase on the 27th of the month at 11pm CST (11am CST for subscribers).  Links will only work at that time.

Happy Reveal Day!!
