Studio Calico Blog Hop and Giveaway!

What makes your house feel like home? Since the new Studio Calico product line is called Home Front, we thought it would be fun to share something about our homes. In thinking about it I decided that there isn't really one specific "thing" that makes my house feel like home to me. Rather it is having my family around me that makes me feel at home. Of course all of our decorations and family pictures on the walls definitely help to make it feel cozy and warm and personal to us but I could really live anywhere and as long as I have my husband and kiddos around me I think it would feel like home.

So, I decided to take a picture of our family room and do a layout about that to share with you today. Our home is situated so that the kitchen, eating area and family room all kind of flow together and those three areas make up the bulk of our main floor and living space. We spend the majority of our time in the family room – hanging out, watching tv, playing games around the ottoman. We are lucky that our family room is quite large so it really works well as a gathering place and there is plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. There is even enough room for the boys to wrestle, play a little flag football and lots of passing the ball back and forth with dad! (And I have to say that I don't really think that those things should be done in the house… but with 3 boys I have learned to bite my tongue and be ok with it as long as they keep it under control!) Emily has even started to join in on the fun – going over by the back sliding glass door and telling dad to "pass it". It's pretty cute!

Almost all of the elements in my layout are from the new Home Front line (everything except the cardstock, mist, brads, buttons, flowers and leaves).

Studio Calico is sharing part of their home with you as well by sponsoring a giveaway of this brand new line. Imagine June Cleaver styled 1950's domestic bliss. Featuring optimistic colors and smooth vintage inspired patterns, you'll find fresh stained wood grain, retro home decor, an exclusive SC cardstock alpha set and much more! Home Front is versatile, colorful, and beautiful and I know you will love it!! I know I do!! Here is a sneak peek at the collection. You can see everything on the Studio Calico blog. Just scroll down to some of the earlier posts (posted early November).

Such a refreshing layout. The colors are perfect. My son is 17, but he and his friends are still kind of hard on the furniture. I just kind of gave the sofa in the bonus room over to them…now I don’t fret and they love it.

Oh my gosh, your family room is gorgeous. I remember our family room when 2 of my sons were smaller. There was wrestling (that entailed them jumping off the couch onto each other, taking the cushions off the couch and putting them under their shirts and sumo wrestling, etc). Now that they are both grown and out of the house, oh I want those days back. So remember, they grow up so quick, they’ll have great memories of home.

You know, I’ve never taken a picture of my house without “prepping” it for photos (aka cleaning it all up so it is “presentable”). It’s not really a real depiction of what our family is really like-but now I’m inspired to do that-just grab my camera and take some snaps around the house. Because THAT’S the real deal, and years from now when the kids are on their own, and it’s just me and the hubby in our quiet house, I can look at that picture and remember how it all used to be! =)

One important issue is that while you are searching for a education loan you may find that you will need a cosigner. There are many situations where this is true because you will find that you do not employ a past credit ranking so the lender will require you have someone cosign the financial loan for you. Thanks for your post.

It is my belief that mesothelioma can be the most dangerous cancer. It’s got unusual traits. The more I actually look at it the harder I am sure it does not behave like a real solid cells cancer. If perhaps mesothelioma is actually a rogue virus-like infection, therefore there is the possibility of developing a vaccine in addition to offering vaccination to asbestos open people who are at high risk regarding developing foreseeable future asbestos relevant malignancies. Thanks for expressing your ideas on this important health issue.

Another thing I have noticed is that often for many people, below-average credit is the reaction of circumstances above their control. For example they may be actually saddled having an illness so they really have large bills for collections. It might be due to a employment loss or inability to work. Sometimes breakup can really send the finances in a downward direction. Many thanks sharing your ideas on this blog site.

Thanks for the various tips discussed on this blog site. I have noticed that many insurance firms offer shoppers generous discount rates if they decide to insure multiple cars together. A significant amount of households own several cars or trucks these days, specially those with more mature teenage kids still located at home, as well as savings on policies can certainly soon begin. So it will pay to look for a good deal.

I have discovered some essential things through your blog post post. One other subject I would like to talk about is that there are numerous games available and which are designed particularly for preschool age young children. They consist of pattern acceptance, colors, wildlife, and designs. These normally focus on familiarization rather than memorization. This makes a child occupied without having the experience like they are learning. Thanks

One thing I would really like to say is the fact that car insurance cancelling is a dreadful experience and if you’re doing the appropriate things being a driver you simply won’t get one. Some people do obtain the notice that they have been officially dropped by the insurance company and several have to scramble to get further insurance after the cancellation. Low-cost auto insurance rates usually are hard to get from a cancellation. Having the main reasons for auto insurance canceling can help car owners prevent losing one of the most essential privileges available. Thanks for the suggestions shared by your blog.

According to my observation, after a property foreclosure home is bought at a sale, it is common for your borrower to be able to still have the remaining unpaid debt on the mortgage. There are many loan merchants who attempt to have all service fees and liens paid off by the upcoming buyer. Having said that, depending on particular programs, rules, and state guidelines there may be a few loans that aren’t easily resolved through the transfer of lending options. Therefore, the duty still lies on the lender that has got his or her property foreclosed on. Thank you sharing your notions on this site.

I have witnessed that rates for online degree gurus tend to be a terrific value. For example a full 4-year college Degree in Communication from The University of Phoenix Online consists of 60 credits at $515/credit or $30,900. Also American Intercontinental University Online makes available Bachelors of Business Administration with a overall education course feature of 180 units and a price of $30,560. Online learning has made getting the degree far less difficult because you can easily earn your own degree in the comfort of your abode and when you finish from office. Thanks for all tips I’ve learned from your site.

Many thanks for your post. I’d prefer to say that the price of car insurance varies widely from one insurance policy to another, mainly because there are so many different issues which give rise to the overall cost. By way of example, the make and model of the motor vehicle will have a huge bearing on the fee. A reliable older family automobile will have a lower priced premium than the usual flashy sports vehicle.
