Sticking to what works for you!

Hello again! We’ve got another cute scrapbook page to share with you today from Amanda! When you break it down, her layout came together fairly simply and yet it has lots of colors, layers and is so much fun!! She is not a traditional scrapbooker and I love that she continues to branch out. AND I also love that she shares her philosophy of doing what works for YOU and sticking to it.

Sometimes as artists and creatives we feel the need to branch out and try new things all the time. And while that is definitely a good thing… and something I do recommend because how will you ever know if you like something or are good at it, if you don’t try right?… but at the same time it’s nice to remember that it’s OK to be you and to do what works for you. You don’t have to fit into a certain mold that you envision when you try a new art form, whether that is scrapbooking, sewing, card making, etc. Feel free to play and stretch yourself, but also be confident in coming back to the formula that you find comfort in and that allows your unique talents to SHINE!!

Hi Friends, Happy Tuesday! I am having so much fun playing with the new SHINE collection. I can’t get enough of all the bright pops of color.

Over the last year I have been really challenging myself to create more pages. I have really enjoyed taking the time to document memories with friends and events that happen in my life. Recently I tried working on a 12×12 page… but after hours of frustration I came to the realization that smaller pages and mini albums are what I enjoy making the most.

Yellow and pink are two of my favorite colors, which inspired this layout. Once I had my photo and lettering positioned I used my typewriter to type a description on a white paper tag. Next, I gathered a few embellishments to layer and finish it off.

Hope this inspired you to create what feels most comfortable to you. Have yourself a HAPPY DAY.

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I love this page! So many interesting details and yet the photo is the main focus (as it should be IMHO!). Love the pop of yellow!
