Scrapbooking Tips and a Giveaway!

Hi there! I have a few things to share with you today – all scrapbooking related….

www.
Here is a tip that I shared over on the Elle's Studio Blog last week about how to use their tags in an unexpected way. To see all the details and the complete layout click here.

I was also the guest blogger over on the Creating Keepsakes blog last week! I shared a tutorial on how to use the packaging from your scrapbook products on your layouts! This is something that I do a lot lately as it seems like I am trying to create less waste and I also love taking advantage of all of the cute packaging that is out there now. It's like a free bonus that you get out of your supplies! I love that!

I love to scrap with very straight and clean lines…however, I absolutely love to distress my edges using the HS edge distresser. I have a son and with limited “boy” themed scrapbooking items, I feel like I can rough it up a bit and make his layouts a bit more edgy!

It’s a simple technique but I truly love stapling my ribbons onto a page. Before I saw that technique done by someone in a CK magazine, I was always trying to glue and glue dot ribbons. It got really mess and now I’m thankful for not having to battle that.

Love, love, love Elle’s Studio. I have been doing a lot of digital scrapbooking lately, so I would say my favorite technique in digital is applying photo actions. But, I finally cleared the sewing machine and curtain mess off my craft table over the weekend and sat down to do some plain old paper crafting last night. So, my favorite technique with paper is distressing with distress inks.

I loved all the papers, and I have found uses for just about every scrap–most of which were less than a half inch thick! I am being thrifty for sure!

Darling layouts as usual Maggie! Love all your inspiration you share! One of my fave things to do (when time allows – LOL!) is to make mini albums with the crinkled tissue paper covers. Just crinkle it up and then modge podge it on. You could also recyle the colored tissue from gift bags to try this technique and it would also be a fun and easy way to use up any chipboard to create custom pages!! 🙂

Ink! I love by just inking the edges of the papers or pictures on my layout and I can totally change up the “feel” of it. Inking just kind of makes everything pop.

I’ve learned newer and more effective things via your web site. One other thing I would like to say is that newer laptop operating systems usually allow a lot more memory to get used, but they in addition demand more memory simply to run. If people’s computer is unable to handle extra memory as well as the newest program requires that memory increase, it might be the time to shop for a new Computer. Thanks
