Scarlet Lime Guest Designer and a Giveaway!

It is Scarlet Lime's 2 year anniversary today and I was so excited when they asked me to be their guest designer for this month! They are a scrapbooking kit club that I have shared before and I really love their kits! I have been getting their kits since the very first month and I have to say that I still get so excited each month to see what is packed in that box… and trust me when I tell you that there are always lots of fun and unique little surprises! I love it!

This month's kit seemed very girlie to me with all the flowers and feminine touches so I wanted to show you how you can still create boy pages with it…

The kit has lots of red and black that I knew I could use for my boyish layout but I wanted to add in some more boy colors so I started with yellow cardstock and then added some misting with my green Maya Road mist. To create the misted stars I used some old stickers that I was ready to toss. I adhered them to the page and then misted over them. Then I removed the stickers to reveal the stars! Super easy and quick but still makes a big impact! Then I used a black marker to outline the stars in an imperfect fashion… wanted to keep it looking fun and whimsical!

I used a few strips of the exclusive Scarlet Lime paper that they designed for this month's kit and then used the numbers foam stamp across the page with black ink. (The foam stamp is from an older Creating Keepsakes Kit of the Month.) Added my photos and finished with a few embellishments and journaling and it was done!

This month's kit also inspired me to do a Christmas layout which is a little odd because there isn't a lot of green in the kit and the papers aren't Christmas themed by any means…. but hey, you never know how inspiration is going to hit you sometimes and so you just go with it right? It just goes to show you that if you subscribe to a scrapbooking kit club and one of the kits doesn't seem like it fits with your photos, you can usually get a lot of different looks from it and you can pull different pieces out of it to create pages that go with other themes and holidays! I love that about these kits!

Emily

Since I was doing a Christmas/December themed layout I knew that I wanted more green so I used a green cardstock as my base. Then I felt the urge to throw in a little pink to tone down the green a little and to go with the pink that is in her dress. So I pulled out my Maya Road mist in bubblegum pink and just spritzed it across the layout. I love that it doesn't scream pink but it still gives a little bit of sheen and interest to the background. Oh, and before I sprayed the mist I put a strip of scalloped paper to the left of where I knew my photo was going…. that is how I got that scallop/dot pattern that you see next to the photo. I loved all of the circles and flowers in the SL paper so I cut some of them out for my page. To create the scallop border underneath the photo I cut three of the JBS Mercantile chipboard buttons in half. Added some other random bits until I felt like it was complete and that was it!

The last thing I have to share with you is a little card that I threw together with some of my scraps. I don't make cards very often but it is a fun way to use your leftovers! It was super quick and simple – no big techniques here. Just some strips of paper and ribbon and I also used the clear stamp that comes with the kit…. love that tree!

Card

I know I don't usually go into this much detail with my scrapbooking projects that I share but I recently did a survey over on the Studio Calico blog and many of our readers asked us to share more of the process and how/why we create our layouts…. so I am going to start sharing more of the details and how it all comes together when I scrapbook. So, to those that are interested – happy reading  - and to those that aren't – hopefully I won't bore you to death! šŸ™‚

And finally, I do have a GIVEAWAY!! That will wake you up right? I have a complete september kit (see below) to give away to one of my readers! Thanks Scarlet Lime!! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post and I will be back to draw a winner later in the week. Good luck. Oh, and if you are the impatient type and you want to just order a kit today instead of waiting to see if you won you can go here.

Thanks alot : ) for your post. I’d prefer to comment that the expense of car insurance will vary from one policy to another, since there are so many different issues which bring about the overall cost. For example, the make and model of the car will have an enormous bearing on the purchase price. A reliable older family vehicle will have a more economical premium than just a flashy fancy car.

Thanks for the thoughts you talk about through this website. In addition, quite a few young women who seem to become pregnant do not even try and get medical insurance because they are concerned they couldn’t qualify. Although a few states currently require that insurers provide coverage despite the pre-existing conditions. Prices on these types of guaranteed programs are usually greater, but when considering the high cost of medical care bills it may be a safer approach to take to protect your own financial potential.

It’s my belief that mesothelioma is actually the most deadly cancer. It’s got unusual traits. The more I really look at it the greater I am assured it does not react like a true solid human cancer. In case mesothelioma is often a rogue virus-like infection, so there is the chance of developing a vaccine and offering vaccination for asbestos exposed people who are vulnerable to high risk involving developing potential asbestos relevant malignancies. I have realized that in unwanted cameras, unique detectors help to {focus|concentrate|maintain focus|target|a**** automatically. These sensors regarding some cams change in contrast, while others employ a beam of infra-red (IR) light, particularly in low lumination. Higher specs cameras at times use a blend of both devices and will often have Face Priority AF where the photographic camera can ‘See’ the face and focus only upon that. Some tips i have observed in terms of pc memory is always that there are specifications such as SDRAM, DDR and the like, that must match up the requirements of the mother board. If the computer’s motherboard is reasonably current while there are no operating-system issues, replacing the ram literally normally takes under a couple of hours. It’s among the easiest personal computer upgrade types of procedures one can imagine. Thanks for spreading your ideas.

Thanks for the strategies you share through your blog. In addition, quite a few young women that become pregnant tend not to even seek to get health insurance coverage because they dread they would not qualify. Although a lot of states right now require that insurers offer coverage no matter what about the pre-existing conditions. Premiums on most of these guaranteed programs are usually bigger, but when thinking about the high cost of medical care bills it may be your safer route to take to protect the financial potential.

A significant quantity of households own several cars or trucks these days, particularly those with older teenage young children still residing at home, and also the savings in policies can easily soon mount up. So it will pay to look for a good deal.

Throughout this great pattern of things you receive an A with regard to hard work. Exactly where you actually lost me personally was on the specifics. You know, they say, details make or break the argument.. And that couldn’t be more correct here. Having said that, allow me reveal to you exactly what did deliver the results. The article (parts of it) is actually highly powerful and this is probably the reason why I am taking an effort to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. I really believe that a foreclosures can have a major effect on the borrower’s life. Mortgage foreclosures can have a Seven to few years negative relation to a client’s credit report. A borrower that has applied for a home loan or any kind of loans for that matter, knows that the particular worse credit rating is definitely, the more complicated it is to get a decent bank loan. In addition, it can affect any borrower’s capability to find a really good place to let or hire, if that results in being the alternative housing solution. Good blog post.
