Pretty Paper Floral Wreath

Today Ulli is sharing such a colorful and cute new scrapbook page with us and I am truly in love with it! I can’t get enough of how she created the  pretty paper floral wreath all around her photo and then mixed in so many cute embellishments too! The dimension and layers are just amazing!!

Hello everyone, Ulli here with you today sharing my first project on the Maggie Holmes Blog with you. I’m so excited to be here! Thank you Maggie for having me!

I decided to start with a big picture layout with a black and white photo from our kids at Mallorca. For my big picture layouts I always order pictures in the size 8×12 inch. Whenever I order photos online, I order a few in this size – so I always have some of them in stock at home and I can start directly when I want to do a big picture layout.

For this layout I wanted to use a wreath as a frame and the plan was to use all the beautful colors from the new gorgeous Willow Lane collection. Really all of them!First I cut out the wreath from a piece of white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo. I backed it with my large black and white photo. I often use an edding to mark the outlines and cut it then by hand with my scissors to the right size. For such a delicate cut file it is not so easy and it took a little bit of time.I am often a white background scrapper and first I wanted to glue it on a piece of white 12×12 cardstock. But then I looked through all the 24 gorgeous Willow Lane Patterned Papers and I had to change my mind. I fell in love with the pinkish paper called Sweet One for this layout and so I glued the picture with the wreath frame onto it. I splattered some gold and black ink in the corners of my page.

I wanted to use the big prize ribbons Chipboard Stickers with the cat and the panda and so I glued them on the wreath first. I stichted over them a little bit with my sewing machine and white thread.Then I did some fussy cutting and cut out many of those beautiful flowers and branches from the Sentiment Paper. I began to decorate the wreath with them and glued some of them on the page.Then I placed the title “You Are My Sunshine” with this chipboard banner on the right side of my layout.I love the Clear Stickers from the Waterfall Sticker Sheets and so I put four of them directly on my photo. I love it, that you can’t see the rim of them – it looks like the words would be printed on the photo.When I saw the Willow Lane embellishments I fell in love with those beautiful Thread Bows! They are so cute and so I also had to use two of them on this page.Then I decorated the frame with Stickers, Foam Phrase Stickers, Ephemera Pieces, Chipboard Stickers and Puffy Stickers from the amazing Willow Lane collection. I often use 3D glue dots behind these embellishments and stickers to add dimension on my projects.For the journaling I made some lines with a thin black Sharpie Pen and a ruler and wrote the quote “The greatest gift our parents ever gave us was each other” on my layout.To fnish off my page I stamped the date with a date roller stamp on my layout and added more Puffy Stickers, the tiny hearts and stars, here and there. You can achieve a playful and cute look with them.I hope you like my layout and hope I could inspire you to do a colorful layout with this amazing new Maggie Holmes collection!
