Pretty DIY Packaging

Hello! It seems like we all have gifting and card making on the brain these days… It’s just the season for it right! It’s time to start gearing up for all of the packaging we will be doing this month and I don’t know about you, but I start collecting gift boxes and wrapping paper early on! Whenever I wait, all of the pretty papers are gone and I am only left with options that don’t really fit my style or decor. Design team member, Kim, has some lovely packaging inspiration for us today. She is always so daring with her color schemes and is never afraid to step outside the box and go untraditional with her choices. I love that! Also her decision to use florals doesn’t necessarily scream Christmas, but you can see that when she added in the ornaments, it totally works! I love that you can make your holiday gift wrapping anything you want! Any style, any color, whatever suits you!! In fact, not every climate is snowy and cold for Christmas. Here in Arizona, it is typically still pretty warm and we have flowers blooming out in the yard. So to me, adding in some florals and pinks feels actually quite fitting! Either way, you can take this inspiration and use it for your holiday packages or you can use this design idea for any gift wrap – a birthday gift or for any occasion that you like!

Hi everyone, it’s that time of year for gathering and celebrating, and of course gifting! Can I just say that I love packaging, any kind of packaging. It’s such a lovely addition to whatever the gift is you’re giving. I remember once working a customer service job during the holidays where gift wrapping was what we did the most during the season. That was the best part of the job and what I remember the most. Most people would say I might put a little too much into my gift wrapping!

I painted lots of little boxes for these decorated gifts and little tags from the Maggie Holmes collection. I wanted a sort of vintage chalky finish so I mixed a little peach acrylic paint and white chalk paint together to get this look. Once dry I added little watercolor pieces along with the tags. It’s so simple and easy and makes such a cute little trinket box to give small gifts in.
