Organizing… Scrapbooking… and a Give Away!

Seems like I am pretty good about organizing my scrapbook room every few months but for some reason I am not good at keeping my layouts organized and in albums…..

I just keep adding to the stacks…. stacks of layouts in the bookcase, stacks of layouts on top of the cabinets, stacks of layouts in the closet…. there are stacks of layouts everywhere in here!

_DSC6199

A few months back I even ordered a bunch of these albums from American Crafts. A different color for each child and then brown for all the layouts that have more than one kid or are more family oriented. But I put the albums up and never got around to putting layouts in them!

Then, for some reason this morning I decided that these layouts deserve a better home and that today is the day! Now my kitchen table looks like this and soon they will all be where they belong.

_DSC6197

I have to say that it has been fun looking through all of these pages as I have sorted them…. lots of favorites among these stacks – favorite photos, favorite stories, and then some favorites as far as design/technique/etc. Looking back through all of these also solidified that I LOVE what I do! I really truly love this art of scrapbooking and it is amazing how satisfying and fulfilling it is to look back at all of the memories, thoughts and feelings I have recorded. It not only makes me grateful that I have all of these meaningful stories and photos recorded but it also makes the creative side of me happy and inspires me to keep creating and playing and doing this

My husband sometimes tries to convince me that the digital age will take over paper scrapbooking and that all of this may one day be obsolete and I steadfastly insist that he is wrong! I do embrace and welcome the digital side of scrapbooking and often use those types of elements in a more hybrid sort of way but I will ALWAYS love paper scrapbooking! And I believe that there will also always be others that find joy in the shuffling of papers, the pleating of ribbons, the actual handiwork that goes into it and the tangible art of creating with physical textures and mediums…..

_DSC6204

So, yes, in case you were wondering I still love scrapbooking! Even after all these years! Now, I need to get back to the task of putting all these layouts into their albums! 🙂

P.S. In my recent attempts at organizing in here I have some stacks of really great products (some new and some older) to GIVE AWAY! Interested? Just leave a comment here telling me what you love about scrapbooking (whether you are paper or digital… anything goes) and I will draw a winner at random later this week! Fun!!

What I love about Scrapbooking: that my children can look through their scrapbooks and “see” everything they have done all throughout their school years. I love that and I love that I scrapbooked it all! I have one photo of me at 3 months then I’m 13, no photos of me.

Scrapbooking is my therapy! It relaxes, rejuvenates, and meets my creative needs. On a longer term scale, I love that it preserves not just photos, but memories, for my sons to see when they are older. Hopefully all these albums will answer those “What was it like then?” questions.

This post has motivated me to organize my scrapbook area! I love the tangible element to paper scrapbooking. Going shopping for new products, shuffling things around as you put together a page and the feeling after you finish a layout with your own 2 hands!

I have the same problem. I really need to get in there and sort my layouts. you might have just inspired me to do it this weekend. We’ll see… What do I love? everything! the stories, the photos, the creating, the feel and smell of the paper

Hey Maggie! I am so glad I am not the only one with stacks! lol!! I totally hope the paper scrapbooking sticks around because I am so not ready to go digital! hahaa I love playing with the paper and products and sewing pages, and yes, shuffling everything around!! 🙂
My children are still so young, but everytime that we look through the scrapbooks, I am so grateful that I took the time to create the pages because so many memories would have already faded with time and now we will have them to pass on forever!! Love that!!

Love the organizing, sometimes that gets me in the mood to create. The thing I love most about the art side of scrapbooking is putting together an emotion or memory and givign it a visual, tangible place to land. A fund, colorful representation of my life. Love it!

I struggle with the same thing – and have a big ol’ pile of layouts waiting to go in albums. 🙂 Scrapbooking is such a release for me … I work in finace, so it’s nice to have an artsy hobby to balance out working in Excel all day. 🙂

Wow, that is a LOT of layouts!!! I wish I had THAT much time to create. When I do, I just slip my pages into albums. They aren’t in any order (I don’t scrap according to date–just what I am in the mood for!) and my albums don’t match. But I keep telling myself “at least I am preserving my daughter’s memories so she can look back and know what happened in her life and will never forget…”
I love preserving memories. From just a family dinner to a road trip or a special event or just playing outside. I love it all. I want my 4 year old to know that I love her enough to document her life and put all of my extra time, energy, money and LOVE into her books. And at 4, she already has 5 scrapbooks… and I haven’t even scrapped everything. I’m sure plenty of you all can relate!!
I just love the personal touch you can give to pages. And it is my outlet of creativity. Even though I don’t get to share my pages with very many people, and they sit on a shelf in books, I am still proud of what I have done. I love looking back and seeing my different levels of creativity. Some I’m not as proud of… but still. Scrapbooking is my love. <3

I second having you come decorate my house :)… Anyhow, besides the obvious having memories to look back on, I love the *stuff* that comes with scrapbooking. All the fun and colorful, creative stuff you can buy and make and whatnot. It’s like a form of decorating, only on a small scale. You can try out tons of different color combos, patterns etc and even switch up your style. And if you don’t like something, it’s not a big deal or commitment.

look at all that beauty! I love this hobby of mine, and too treasure the feel of the paper in my hand. I’d say I’m about at an 80/20 split between traditional and digital scrapbooking, and that’s plenty enough computer for me. I love the social aspect of traditional scrapbooking that comes from crops at my LSS.

I completely agree…scrapbooking isnt the same unless you are playing in the paper, ribbon and random different textures you can find around. I however am like you and my pages seem to spend alot of time in random stages and then when finished spend alot of time in a stack before they are organized in albums.
    happy organizing

I honestly love the hoarding and purging of it all…lol. I hoard and hoard and then one weekend or one day I will just sit and go through all of my pretty goodies and make pages I have been dreaming in my head. I’m so jealous of those stacks. I am fairly new at scrapbooking. I don’t really have a designated scrapbook room right now & I am not sure when that will happen, however, I do know that I really enjoy the company and creativity that it creates. I do both!
I’ve been doing a lot of digital lately…but, have been itching to work with some paper!

What I love about scrapbooking is telling my stories to my children, stories I would otherwise forget or stories they would forget. I want them to remember themselves at a certain age the way that I remember them. I want them to record things at their age so that their future self can look at it and laugh and remember.
I do it for my kids, and for the people that I love the most.
Thank you for the chance to win! I love looking at your LOs piled up like that. I have a scrapbook just for recent LOs that I put in. Then once that gets full I put them in their own albums.

Right now I’m just trying to enjoy the creative escape aspect of it. I love the fact that I’m documenting my kids’ lives but I’m soooo far behind, I try not to think about it. But escaping to my little hideaway and playing with MY toys is what I love most. 🙂

  • Colleen Sheehy
    August 18, 2010 at 3:57 pm

So glad you are still enjoying. And I totally agree, paper “traditional” or paper scrapbooking will be here forever!!! I love it too! My favorite part about scrapbooking is capturing the memory. I am constantly forgetting what I did yesterday and have a horrible time remembering what my little girl did when she was say 6mths old, so for me I capture these moments or smiles and love that I can revisit them anytime.

I have a 10 month old baby boy and recently started scrapbooking to show off his pictures in a cute way (better than just filing them in a shoebox). I have really been loving it!

Okay I feel much better about MY piles now that I know you have them too. And that you have them everywhere same as me! And what good motivation to get them in to albums! When asked why I scrapbook I always say (same as you) to record our family memories, but also for the “me” time to be creative. I’m grouchy when I haven’t created in a while.

I just started paper scrapbooking and love it because it lets me be creative while making memories more meaningful. I wished I would’ve started years ago. It’s so relaxing to figure out what embellishment would work best – I just love it! I’m also loving your layouts…

This is so funny I was just telling my mom this morning once the kids are back in school I need to get my layouts into albums! I can not tell you the last time I did this so I have plenty of stacks.
The love of scrapbooking came when I realized I wanted to scrap and remember our everyday lives. I don’t remember those days when I was young and wanted that for my own children.

    August 18, 2010 at 4:25 pm

i think the best part about scrapbooking is knowing that i’m able to tell the stories of our family… when our children are too little to remember those special moments, when it’s so easy to forget the small things that we want to always remember, so that i can preserve who we are/were as a family. i am naturally sentimental person, and i think creating scrapbook pages is by far the coolest way to express how much you love your family.

Maggie, I am so with you…I do digital here and there…but love creating with paper…making all the fun embellishments and my changing style over the years. I think what I love most are the memories.. so much happens that I would have forgtten is it werent for the layout… from the way my son says “I love you too” even when he says it first, to the little memories that pop up from my childhood. It’s all being remembered now 🙂

  • Tanya K
    August 18, 2010 at 4:37 pm

My favourite thing about scrapbooking is knowing that the stories and memories I record will never be lost because of my spotty memory. My children are young, but still I look through early albums and realize I had forgotten a memory that thankfully I had scrapped and now remember all over again!

  • Sandra @ The Memory Workshop Scrapbook Kits

I do the stacks too! I store finished layouts by theme, and when a theme box fills up, I move the whole stack to an album, and start an new stack (and a new album!)
I don’t even think about where a layout is going to go while I’m creating it. However the finished layout ends up, that’s what stack it goes in 🙂

There are definitely a group of people who reminisce about the days of playing with glue and scissors and paint and remember that as the happiest times in our lives. Those people will never be completely brought over to the digital side, because the act of playing with paper and crafting is what makes us smile 🙂

I love the feeling of losing track of time while I’m scrapbooking; I am so engrossed in what I am doing and before I know it, an hour has passed without me even knowing it. I love my job as a special education teacher but I don’t experience this same sense of creative flow most of the time while teaching. I also love the sense of gratitude scrapbooking gives me for all of the ways my life is blessed with family and friends.

4 the Luv of Crafts–whether its scrapbooking, card making, birthday banners I love to use paper and make SPECIAL UNIQUE CREATIONS that are personalized and 1 of a KIND!! It can reflect a story, their personality, and hobbies or sports. I love the opportunity to tell their story of a phase or trend they were into so that they can look back and remember those moments. It’s like being a family Historian and being able to leave it for our kids and grandkids to look at and appreciate it make it that much more rewarding.
Many Blessings to you and your family

I love scrapbooking for so many reasons. The best thing about it, is when my two-year old looks through the albums and points out people and things. Her face lights up at all the pictures and embellishments. That’s who I’m scrapping for. Thanks for your generous giveaway, and a chance to win!

Hi Maggie – I ADORE your work and follow all that you do. I have a small request and hope it’s okay to ask – could you please, with sugar on top, post the layouts you created for CHA with SC’s Elementary collection? It would be so greatly appreciated – I would love to see them… many thanks Helen.

I love all things scrapbooking! I scrapbook for my nephews and niece, as well as for neighbors and charity events, and nothing gets me excited more than a sheet of paper – any paper! – to stimulate my creativity and get me going! Currently, I’m stepping out of my box and buying papers that I previously would not have looked at, let alone purchased. It’s been a challenge to figure out what to do with them, but the results have been really amazing! BTW, love your work!

I love sitting down and taking what seems to be an ordinary moment in our lives and recording it. Then when I look back on it later on I realize that I would have probably forgotten that one ordinary moment if I had not taken the time to scrap it. That makes me very happy!

I totally love your creative ideas!!! Would you please post a gallery of all those beautiful layouts you have to organize? I’m trying to get a good look at all that you have on your dining table – (“Pretty soon” is my fav)but it’s a bit hard. Here’s a better idea – how about putting them together in a book entitled “Joy of Scrapbooking!!” I’d definitely buy a few copies =) Thank you for all of your inspiration. For me, the best part about scrapbooking is sitting with loved ones reminiscing over memories in an album. My daughter is now enjoying this hobby and we love taking photos together.

Ahhh!! I feel soo much better about my “not in any albums” layouts stacking up! My favourite thing about scrapbooking is how its my “downtime” and knowing that in 50 years i’ll be able to look back at all my memories and smile!

Man I wish I had that many stacks of layouts done:) I think my favorite part of scrap booking is the whole creative process of saving a memory, a story! Sewing pictures on pretty paper, paints, embellishments, buttons, stamping, so many things to play with. And I have to add another, the friends I have met through this great hobby, its beyond words:)

I’m the type of person that has to clean up after I scrapbook and put the page into an album. I might move it later, but I *Must* put it in an album. I used to not let the albums leave my room, but have since let go of that because my 9.5 month old daughter LOVES pictures of herself! With that said, I love the way the stacks look!!! I just wish I had a dining room table to do that… even if just for a few minutes while I sort them all out again.
One of my best friends swapped to digital and has tried to convince me, but I just can’t do it. I love the feel of the paper in my hands, the scissors, the ribbon, the {messy} glitter… I just don’t feel that I’m being as creative with digital. There are lovely digital layouts and I enjoy some hybrid stuff, but I will always always choose getting messy!!
Thanks for the chance to win some loot!

I LOVE paper crafting and scrapbooking is SO important. The best part for me is sharing my albums with children (I have lots of nieces and nephews). I have the same problem- stacks of layouts, boxes of layouts, and plenty of empty albums. I need to get them all out in one place and put them in albums. I don’t know why its so hard to get them into albums. Crazy! Good luck getting all those beautiful layouts put away. I love paper scrapbooking so much more than digital. While I think digital layouts are beautiful, I really like to touch and feel, and move everything around.

I love that I will have recorded it all, the good, the bad, the big and the small. That there will forever be a special place that tells it how it was so that our story, my story is not lost. My main source of inspiration comes from grandmother who suffered Alzheimer’s. She was a crafter, an incredibly talented creator and while I have the tangible evidence of this in her beauitful embroidery, knit’s and crochet I am missing the wonderful tales that I wish accompanied them. Miss you grandma.

I can’t get enough of all of the fun supplies! I think I have just as much fun buying and organizing the supplies as I do scrapbooking with them. 🙂 Plus I LOVE seeing my little ones look through their books and smile and laugh as they remember. I don’t ever want them to forget how much they are loved and what a great childhood they had. I will always love scrapbooking!
And Maggie – I have to say that your style has inspired me SO MUCH. I have so many of your beautiful layouts from CK magazine plastered all over my scrapbook room wall for inspiration. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with us all!

Now that I have kids, I love scrapbooking thier life moments so they can have those memories forever…BUT I do have to say that before kids, I used to scrapbook all my ‘single life’ adventures too…which means my kids can one day look back and see how ‘cool’ Mom was!!! If that’s not a reason to love scrapbooking, I dont know what to tell ya! 🙂

what i love best about scrapbooking is 1 – that I am chronicalling the life of my many nieces and nephews so they have things to remember when they are older and 2 – because of how it challanges be creatively. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be creating the things I create. Before creating, I was never crafty .. or so I thought.

that is what i did last week! now i need more albums! do you just scrapbook 12×12? i’ve also been going through my stuff too, way too much, it gets overwhelming!
i had a hard time putting my 9×9 pages into albums only because i need to scrapbook more photos and i like them in order by date, but i only have so many albums…so i guess i will just rearrange them as i scrapbook!

that table looks delicious! i love when its time to “organize my layouts” and i get to spend a couple hours surrounded by all my happy art!
my favorite thing about scrapbooking is that i can make an idea in my head come out exactly how i want it on the page, colors, photos, design, texture…it just flows and theres that moment of pride at the end where youre like…yes i did this i really did!! im addicted to that feeling 🙂

So nice to see that I am not the only “stacker”!!! I have a huge stack that needs to be filed ‘yesterday’!
What I love about scrapbooking primarily is that it allows me to creatively tell my family’s story. It provides an outlet in more ways than I can mention (therapeutic, retail therapy, journaling, etc.) in this post. And my secondary reasons for loving scrapbooking so much is that it allows me to be surrounded by pretty little treasures and it is a gateway to meet so many interesting people and learn their stories too! I know you didn’t ask for a novel, but I really do love this thing called scrapbooking!

  • Marina

    August 18, 2010 at 10:29 pm

I use to have the same problem with my pages. Then I listened to Tracey White speak about why you scrapbook and my whole motive changed. I no longer wanted to scrapbook chronologically and I no longer felt the need to scrapbook everything. Now my books are full of all stages of my childrens’ lives and full of stories and heartfelt journaling. I can’t tell you how much I wish I had a scrapbook full of my grandma’s thoughts and stories or my mom’s for that matter. I want to leave a piece of me behind when my kids and grandkids look at and read my scrapbooks. I want them to feel like I’m speaking to them and I want them to know the emotion that each photo or event brought out in me. I want them to know just what I was thinking as they were growing. I want them to know that I went through what they’ll surely go through. Mostly I want them to hear my voice when they look at my pages. I want to leave them with a history and a story.

What I love best about scrapping is how grateful for my life that it makes me feel! I also love just playing with photos and paper and scissors and glue! I’m with you- while I love using some digital supplies in a hybrid way, it could never take the place of actually touching the paper!

Well.. first off, I don’t have Adobe Photoshop, so I can’t discover if I really do not like digital, I love the touch and feel of a real page, I love them together and be able to use my punchers and scissors. I think I’ll prefer a traditional scrapbook page.

  • Nina

Lovely post 🙂 For me scrapbooking and cardmaking are a great way to balance my life. I study interpreting and sometimes it’s hard – but at the end of the day my “product” is the spoken word, I cannot touch it or see what I have accomplished. Many interpreters have some kind of handiwork outlet, and for me it’s paper and all those beautiful things that make me happy and keep me sane 🙂

Look at all those gorgeous layouts! I love playing with stuff in my hands, the feel, the colors, the cool ideas. Can’t say that I see it going full out digi…much like “fine art”, scrapbooking will be augmented by digi but the hands on thing is too much of the human connection to lose altogether.

I agree that there’s just something magical about playing with paper and glue. I’ve been scrapbooking since before there was a scrapbooking industry and will keep on pushing paper and embellies around a page until I can’t anymore. For me it’s therapy: both the creative aspect and the organizational side of it plus there’s the social connection and the family history. What’s not to love?

This is very inspiring. I need to do the same thing myself.
What is it about this time of year that makes us all feel this need to organize and purge and tidy up? I’ve been in “purification mode” for the past week and it’s great. Haven’t reached the scrapbook pages yet though. lol
What do I love about SBing…? Gosh, so many things. These days though the most important thing about SBing for me is that it KEEPS ME SANE. Yeah, scrapbooking as therapy. And digital does NOT do it for me.

Wow! All of those amazing layouts in stacks on your table. Beautiful!! I love scrapbooking because it combines three of my favorite things – photography, writing, and art – and I get to record memories about my favorite people – my family! It’s the perfect hobby, stress-reliever, and outlet for my creative side. When I am putting together a layout, that is my “me time”, -time for me to do something for myself that I love doing. Plus, seeing all of my pictures and reading my stories helps me appreciate what I have. Oh! And I love the paper too! I might do hybrid pages sometimes, but I will never give up my paper!

Love your style—I paper scrapbook & enjoy the process of creating. I like looking back and seeing how my girls have grown and changed-but it’s also fun to see how my scrapping syle has changed and the “trends” at the time the layout was made. It’s a great way to unwind and have some time for myself!!

What I love most about scrapbooking is that it’s more than just a photo album. It captures the stories and the memories in a creative and beautiful way – and that’s going to make everyone more motivated to look through the albums and remember them as time goes by. For me it’s about recording the everyday events as well as the big celebrations, and journalling about my thoughts and feelings the entire time. And of course, the pretty products inspire and motivate me too!!! 🙂

I love how theraputic it is. How when I’m making a page I’m so focused on what goes where and the story that’s getting told and playing with all the stuff that all the other worries melt away. I also love how scrapbooking makes me appreciate my kids more. Now that my kids are in their late teens there’s a little more sass and attitude and looking at the pictures reminds me that they are still sweet and good. Especially when they’re quiet (like in the photo!)
LOVE the picture of all the layouts on your table. You so very prolific!

    Hi Maggie,
Whouah, I wished I had scrapbooked that much! I discovered scrapbooking last year and I love it. I love the fact of leaving memories behind to cherish. They are not just in my head, they are materialized through designs, embellishments and journaling. I also love the therapeutic effect and the “me-me” time involved. When creating, I’m in my little bubble.
Anyway, it was great to see your table full! So much time and creativity involved. You can also appreciate more of the progress you’ve made over the years. Life is a long journey.
    Cheers,

Great layouts and wow, so many! Your gonna need a few albums!! Ha ha. Well i’m a paper girl all the way. I love the creative side of scrapping. Using all those textures, colors, papers, paints etc. But what really makes me smile is that even though my boys are now 17 and 15 i still find them flipping through a scrapbook every once in a while and they always have a smile on their face. That’s why i scrapbook 🙂

i am a paper scrapbooker! my mom got me started in highschool and cant seem to stop! i seem to scrapbook more since hurricane katrina. my mom lost all of her scrapbooks from when we were kids. so ive definately overcompensated with my own kids, since i dont have any photos as a child, giving my 3 yr old about 12 scrapbooks so far! i really love the pride i feel to show off the scrapbook when its done, its such a sense of accomplishment and a joy to look back on all those memories!

I’m totally addicted to documenting my life in pictures, especially with a 4-year old in the house. I treasure every moment of my daily life and scrapbooking helps me ‘hold on to’ those tiny precious everyday memories as well as the major milestones. I basically love scrapbooking because I can combine photography with being creative with paper, glue and words!

My reason for scrapbooking? Well, I can’t name just one. I love it because I can be creative; my thoughts, feelings, etc. can be forever put down for me and my family to remember; JUST to remember (I re-live it by scrapbooking it).
There are many other reasons, BUT I don’t want to take up half a page!

Maggie – love your blog! I love everything about scrapbooking… the creative process…the storytelling. But what I love the most is knowing that I’m leaving a legacy for my daughter, so that she will always know how much I loved her, even when I’m gone. This seems even more important since she is an only child, and I really want her to know what a blessing she is to us. If you ever need an extra hand organizing let me know (LOL)…I’m in Gilbert, AZ too :).

I love your dining table. Where did you get it?
There are so many things I love about scrapbooking. But, there are two main reasons why I scrapbook. One, I absolutely love the creative expression. I appreciate digital scrapbooking, and I dabble in it some (also doing more and more hybrid), but it will never replace paper for me. I love seeing how my style and skill has evolved over time. The second reason I love scrapbooking is to share my story. Both little stories and big stories…those are the precious memories I have with my grandmother and I hope one day to share them with my own grandchildren.

your layouts are so inspiring! ahh! must get to my scrap table ASAP! 🙂
i scrap using 100% paper [no digi for this girl right now] and my favorite part of the process is recording the little memories that i know i would otherwise forget. what we did on that saturday last september, what i ate on my 22nd birthday, how i felt when my brother left for iraq, etc.
the thoughts & memories could be big or small, but they are all still important! 🙂

    August 20, 2010 at 6:56 am

I’m a paper scrapbooker and I love the things i love best are:
    1. picking out the photo. It may (and usually is time-consuming), but i love it because I end up going through a bunch and re-living all the memories. i think that part is what makes this step take so long, vs the editing etc. lol
    2. watching my kids go through the pages and remember the moments when they see the pages. i love the smiles and having the page promtp them talk about it all over again 🙂
Thanks for sharing your pages – they look so colorful all stacked up in piles like that!

  • Brianna T.
    August 20, 2010 at 7:22 am

Oh how fun! Look at all those beautiful layouts! My favorite part about scrapbooking is when the kids pull down the albums and I hear them talking about each page/memory that they have! Love it!

i love looking through my old pages. they are always a little embarrassing and a lot hilarious.
i also love the process of creating. i love getting down to it and getting my hands all dirty with inks, paints and glue.
also, i love the people who i have met through scrapbooking. i’ve made so many amazing friends just because of our mutual love for scrapbooking and being crafty.
so basically, in a nutshell, i love scrapbooking. ha.

I love paper scrapbooking for the same reasons you do. I like working with all of the materials and with my hands. I do use my computer to adjust pictures, and sometimes to print out titles. But, I will always be paper crafting and paper scrapbooking because it relaxes me. I work on computers for a living, so I don’t want to spend all of my spare time on them as well!

I love scrapbooking and still do as much “traditional” scrapbooking as I can. I have not done a “digital” page though I do create digital elements on occasion to put on my regular pages. Mostly, I love all of the paper and elements that go on a page. I love the pictures and stories of course! Love seeing all of the happy colors on your table today!

Your layouts look gorgeous all lined up, so bright and colourful. I don’t think I could ever not love paper scrapbooking and i can’t ever see the age were people don’t want to make things with their hands as opposed to a machine(computer)there is that odd satisfaction that only comes from cutting and pasting and creating something brand new.

I love to scrapbook for many reasons, but one is to reminisce. I love going back through my photos and remembering exactly what was going on when I took the picture. And then adding fun paper and embellies to further tell the story of the photo makes it really come back to life.

I cant get enough pattern paper. Sometimes I just look though my scrap supplies just to smell and feel them. I will never do the digital thing. I couldn’t give up my addiction. even though I am a graphic designer. I just need to feel the project.

I love the creative process that goes on when creating a layout. It takes me forever to finish a layout, but love every minute of it. And scrapbooking shopping…. well that’s also a favorite part of scrapbooking for me…lol – but the main thing I focus on when doing a layout is that the picture(s) always get first attention when looking at my layout.

Wow Maggie – you have been a busy girl! I know how much my kids love looking at their scrapbooks – what a fulfilling hobby! I love the texture, the feel, the 3D quality of real paper and all the embellishments. I don’t think i’ll ever go digital completely. It’s my artistic outlet, and family history all rolled together.

  • Michele Mc
    August 23, 2010 at 9:36 am

I love seeing all of those LOs organized. You must be so proud to have so much output! The ratio of the purchasing of supplies to actual output for me is not good! 🙂 But I love the whole scrapbooking process so it’s worth it.
I mainly do paper SBing, but I have done some digital calendars or books. I also use a digital photo template once in awhile so I guess that would qualify as hybrid.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

First off I don’t think I could ever be that organized with my scrapbooking supplies and projects. Wow! Anyways one of the things I love most about scrapbooking is that you can give a whole room of people the same supplies to work with and no two projects will come out looking the same

What I love about scrap booking is the thought that I might have my ‘hiSTORY’ live on longer than me. I love reading old tombstones and then I always get wondering what they were like and I don’t ever want someone to wonder about me or my family. I want the story out there, out of my head and off my camera. I am really bad at creating layouts but when one does get completed I am THRILLED!!

Thanks for your article. It’s very unfortunate that over the last 10 years, the travel industry has had to tackle terrorism, SARS, tsunamis, bird flu virus, swine flu, as well as first ever real global economic depression. Through everything the industry has really proven to be powerful, resilient and dynamic, discovering new solutions to deal with adversity. There are constantly fresh problems and possibilities to which the field must yet again adapt and respond.

Thanks for your posting. I would like to comment that the very first thing you will need to conduct is check if you really need credit repair. To do that you will need to get your hands on a copy of your credit history. That should really not be difficult, ever since the government mandates that you are allowed to obtain one totally free copy of your own credit report on a yearly basis. You just have to inquire the right individuals. You can either look at website for the Federal Trade Commission or maybe contact one of the leading credit agencies right away.

Thanks for helping me to get new thoughts about pcs. I also have the belief that one of the best ways to keep your laptop in leading condition is to use a hard plastic case, and also shell, that will fit over the top of one’s computer. These kind of protective gear are generally model specific since they are manufactured to fit perfectly within the natural housing. You can buy these directly from the vendor, or via third party places if they are for your mobile computer, however don’t assume all laptop may have a shell on the market. Just as before, thanks for your recommendations.

I believe that avoiding processed foods could be the first step so that you can lose weight. They will often taste great, but highly processed foods contain very little nutritional value, making you try to eat more only to have enough power to get over the day. If you are constantly consuming these foods, switching to grain and other complex carbohydrates will help you have more vitality while having less. Thanks alot : ) for your blog post.

Having said that, they do not usually realize that there are other benefits to losing weight as well. Doctors insist that over weight people are afflicted with a variety of disorders that can be instantly attributed to the excess weight. The great news is that people who sadly are overweight plus suffering from various diseases are able to reduce the severity of their particular illnesses through losing weight. It’s possible to see a progressive but notable improvement with health while even a minor amount of fat reduction is reached.

I have noticed that over the course of building a relationship with real estate managers, you’ll be able to come to understand that, in most real estate deal, a commission amount is paid. Eventually, FSBO sellers will not “save” the percentage. Rather, they try to win the commission by way of doing the agent’s occupation. In accomplishing this, they devote their money plus time to conduct, as best they are able to, the tasks of an adviser. Those obligations include getting known the home by means of marketing, offering the home to all buyers, building a sense of buyer urgency in order to trigger an offer, scheduling home inspections, controlling qualification assessments with the lender, supervising fixes, and aiding the closing of the deal.

If the pc’s motherboard is very current while there are no operating system issues, improving the storage space literally usually takes under one hour. It’s among the list of easiest computer system upgrade techniques one can picture. Thanks for revealing your ideas.
