The design team continues to inspire me with the way they are using the new Open Book collection! Stephanie has a fabulous scrapbook page to share with us today and I love the creative way she used the striped paper! Hi there! Stephanie back with you to share a fun project using the Open Book collection! I really had so much fun creating this page! I took inspiration from one of the mini canvases I created back in October and paired the black & white striped paper with a row of floral die cuts. There is just something about that pop of black with the softer, pastel flowers that seems so visually appealing to me!
When I conceptualized this idea on a 12×12 piece of paper, I knew I wanted to have a large pop of white on my page and I wanted the stripes to appear like they were popping out from the middle. To create this effect, I decided to trim a triangular piece from the striped paper, and add it to the corner of my background, leaving about an inch border. To bring in some softness to the page, I added an overlapping row of the floral die cuts. I just love these so much and I love how they look paired with the black and white paper!
Next, I placed my photo over a portion of the flowers using a few paper layers. I added the Open Book glittered “you” along the left side of my photo to act as my title.
To balance out the page, I added a few vellum pieces, a chipboard circle and a pretty gold decorative pin. I love how the vellum pieces still allow part of my photo to peek through.
