My Best Star!

Hello! We are still working on getting caught back up here on the blog after moving! The design team gals have some amazing projects in the line up and I can’t wait for you to see everything they have been working on!! Pretty soon we will be back to normal with our regularly scheduled posts here, plus lots more in the works as well including the home decor and design projects I’ve been working on! Thanks for your patience with me as things have been slightly crazier than normal!! And as always, thanks for continually checking in and being such great supporters of the blog!! Keep reading for details about this darling new scrapbook page that Kim created! I just love how she brings everything to life with her use of watercolors and glitter!!

Hi everyone, I’m here to share a pretty glitter layout using hand-cut stars! I just adore a simple layout using just a few elements, something like hearts, flowers or stars. Sometimes I have so many things going on that it’s just impossible to create a layout that is too involved. For this page I found some star shapes from an older ephemera package and used them to cut a few stars from white cardstock and the Shine collection papers. I use that technique a lot if I need a new blade on my Silhouette Cameo or need to cut something neat and quick. Just grab a shape and your paper and use the shape as a guide.

I wanted to create a fun background so I cut the star shapes out along one side of my cardstock and then used another piece of paper to paint underneath. It’s so fun to see the different brushstrokes of paint peeking through.

For the stars I had to add a bit of sparkle so I added some tape and painted glue along the edges. Then I sprinkled glitter in different colors of green. You can glitter the entire star or just parts of it. I thought it might add a little interest just doing them in parts. I proceeded to add my stars along the side of my layout leaving a bit of the painted stars underneath showing through.

My son is growing up way too quickly but he’s always a star in my book! Have and awesome day!

Happy Thursday!
