My August Planner Set Up & Dashboard

Hello friends! I am a little bit late in sharing my August dashboard for my planner but I still wanted to share it!  I’ve been creating a new customized dashboard for my planner each month because I like to change things up and it’s also a fun creative exercise for me. I always start with a piece of patterned paper cut to size and then I just have fun decorating it with any products I am loving at the moment.

I also took some photos of the things I have tucked in the pockets to use this month. Gathering up all of these little things to use in my planner is one of my favorite things! I have always been a huge fan (and possibly hoarder) of all things stationary so this is right up my alley! I always include a random mix of things like you see below… stickers to decorate my pages and calendar, tags to write notes and lists on, labels to write events etc on, project life cards, pockets, envelopes, clips. I love that everything can be functional and cute!

This month I tucked the puffy stickers and tiny phrase stickers from my Confetti collection in there. The whole sheet of phrase stickers was too big to fit so I just cut it in half and then it worked! I can never get enough of tiny phrase stickers. Seriously I use them on everything!

Then there are also sometimes things I create and include in my planner, not for function but just to decorate it with and to make it pretty! I figure that if this is going to be sitting open on my desk all day every day, it might as well have things that I like to look at and that inspire me right?

I added some pink sequins into a glassine envelope and stitched it shut so they wouldn’t fall out. Then I decorated it with some washi, a label and a sticker. To create the butterfly clip, I first applied pink foil to a butterfly shape using the Minc Foil Applicator. Then I layered two sequin butterflies on top and stitched it all in place. Finally I glued it right onto a gold glitter clothespin. The fun thing about creating this type of thing for my planner is that I can totally save it and use it later on in a mini album or on a scrapbook page!
