Things are exciting over here right now as we have been a tad bit busy with the building of our new home. The great thing is that it’s just right around the corner from where we are currently renting, so it makes for an easy drive over there when I need to meet with subs, check on things or just want to pop in and get excited about the progress!
Since Lizzy and Henry are the only ones not in school during the day, they are my little companions for this whole process. Lizzy calls it “going to the lot” and I can’t wait for the day when she realizes that it has turned into an actual house and then a home instead of just the “lot.” I get teary eyed just writing that because for me it is finally starting to settle in that it is really happening. Windows are now being installed and we made final decisions on all of our faucets… and for some reason those two things made it seem just a bit more real!
My heart is truly so full of gratitude for all of this and to be finally realizing our dreams of designing our own home and picking everything out. I think most people would want to cry at the thought of having to pick everything and make all of these choices… and it’s definitely not a walk in the park as it is a LOT of work and very time consuming… but I really do love it!
I am also super excited about a few collaborations that are in the works related to the new house… and can’t wait to share more details on those. I haven’t shared much on social media yet, because images of the framing stage are not that exciting to anyone but us probably! But as we get closer and finishes start going in, I will be sharing more of what we ended up choosing! So fun!!
