Let’s Make Some Cards!

When I have a few minutes of time and my supplies are already out, I love to make a few cards! It’s a great creative exercise with no pressure and also no limits! I also like that it’s a great way to use up those leftovers from other projects.

One of my best tips for scrapbookers, card makers, or anyone starting out in the paper crafting world is this >> don’t feel like you have to reinvent the wheel every time you sit down to create something! Find a style or process that works for you and don’t be afraid to repeat. Yes, that’s right, REPEAT! For example, Jessy created one card and then created two more using the same basic design but with different products. Each card looks unique and beautiful even though the layout of each is pretty much the same! Not only will this allow you to make  projects more quickly, but it will also start to give your work as an overall collection, a style or cohesive feel that is YOU! 

Cards are really fun to create! I love transforming this smaller art canvas by using one of my favorite techniques — layering. Today, I have 3 cards to share with you where I used a layering technique & also featuring the beautiful Bloom collection.

The cards I put together are pretty similar to each other. Each has a tag & title/sentiment in the middle. The only thing I did was to use different elements so the cards look different but still similar in a way. The first card certainly was the initial idea that led me to create the second & the third card.

Tip >> 6″x6″ paper pads are absolutely perfect for card making as the prints/illustrations of the designs are smaller in size and it looks pleasing to the eyes too.
