Hi! What are your thoughts on scrapbooking photos of yourself? I know that most of us are a little more uncomfortable or hesitant because we’d rather make pages of our family, kids, friends etc. BUT, it is really important that we include ourselves in our scrapbook albums every now and then! I think of our albums as my journals and our history that I am leaving for our children to look back on and then their children and their children, etc. So in that sense, it’s definitely a must to include ourselves as a part of that history! After all, without you, your history would be incomplete right!?
Design team member Kim, is stepping out of her comfort zone and sharing a layout she made about herself today and I think we should use it as inspiration and follow her lead! You can share an older or newer photo or even a quick iPhone image. And then be sure to also include some journaling as well. Whether that’s a short and sweet sentiment about something you’re loving or feeling right now, or a chance to leave your kids or spouse a heartfelt note… either way, they will treasure it! Trust me!!
Hello everyone, I’m here to share another pretty painted page today! I’m always excited to pull out any sort of paints and I try to use them on most of my pages. I don’t think the trend will ever go out of style for me. The simple act of painting, even in the smallest amounts, usually inspires me in all sorts of areas. It sort of gets my brain working and it’s always the best kind of therapy!
For this page I thought, why not try a few of the fun stamps from the Bloom collection. I love the little bows and sayings in the stamp kit. Just enough for a beginner stamper like me.
I first stamped the little bows around the page along with the hello stamp. And then to make it not so monochrome, I lightly painted the bows in using watercolors. I began to paint the center a pretty blush color along with some delicate little branches falling down the page as a background for my embellishments.
I pulled out little things from my stash, embellishments from the Gather collection, little watercolor frames and lots of die cut leaves, to complete the page. I decided to use an old photo of me because I never scrap myself and I just happened to have a photo available to use. We should at least scrap ourselves every now and then, right!
Take care and have an awesome day!
