Hi there! I hope you have enjoyed all of the Love and Valentine’s themed projects I have been sharing this week! I really love this holiday because it is so fun to spread LOVE and let those you care about know how special they are to you!! Kim has a beautiful Valentine’s Day scrapbook page to share with us today. And it features some lovely painting and watercolor work as is usual for her artsy style! Read on to find out how she created this gorgeous page!!
I couldn’t let February get away from me without at least creating a few pages for Valentine’s day. How I love hearts and flowers and pinks in all shades!
Here’s how I created my page >> I pulled out the chalkboard paint to brush a big heart on my page. It’s always fun for me to add paint in some way to my pages and chalkboard paint is pretty fun. You have the ability to create lots of interest by writing around it or using an opaque gel pen to write directly on it.
After drawing the heart and creating lots of artsy splatters I cut pieces of the open book collection papers into tiny squares. I wanted to fill the heart with different kinds of papers. Once I finished adhering the papers I painted some die cut flowers a bright pink and added them to the corner of my heart.
You don’t really have to be a painter to add lots of color with die cuts. Just grab a brush and add a few strokes in different directions or dab lots of water and watercolors to a certain area. I love adding that pop of color!
