Hi again! I’ve teamed up with the folks at momsbestnetwork.com and a group of creative ladies to bring you 6 fun and easy Fall/Thanksgiving crafts that you can do with your kids (or on your own)!!
First up is my craft and then you can click the links at the end of the post to to go directly to the DIY for each creative fall craft from the other ladies!! Enjoy!!
You may recognize the art in my craft because I just recently shared it in my FREE FALL PRINTABLE & VINTAGE CLIP ART IMAGES round up! I wanted to show you a fun and easy way to use some of those free Fall clip art images that I posted!
Step 1 >> Choose the clip art images that you want to use for your Fall art and print them. I printed this “Tis Harvest Time” vintage sheet music from the Graphics Fairy at 8×10 and 5×7 because those are the sizes of my frames. (I opened the clip art into Photoshop and then cropped it to the sizes that I needed.) I also used the same method to open, size and print the butterfly, acorn & leaves, and feather images.
Step 2 >> Cut out all of the printed images. On the butterflies I went ahead and just cut off the tiny antennae because they would be too fragile to cut out and work with.
Step 3 >> Next you will go ahead and adhere the cut out clip art images to the sheet music pieces. I used regular adhesive in the centers of the butterflies and then I used foam adhesive on the edges to give the art some lift and dimension. I did the same thing with the feather and leaves. I planned to leave the glass out of the frames when I put everything together so that you can see the dimension and it won’t get flattened out.
You can see the finished piece here without the glass in the frame. I think it gives it a lovely look to have those butterflies popping off the sheet music!
Repeat the process with the other fall clip art and sheet music for the smaller frames.
I wanted to show you a few variations that you could do, but really, the sky is the limit!! You could use any of the free fall clip art images from my other blog post and you could also use different backgrounds as well! These will look fabulous hanging in a collage on a wall or simply displayed on an entry or side table in your living space!! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial for creating your own Fall home decor!!
