We had a great Labor Day weekend – spent a lot of time together as a family.
Saturday and Monday we went boating – took all three boys. We went with Grandpa and Grandma Holmes, Spence, Kellie, Tate, Benson and Syd, Jay, Jackson, Rachel and McKayla. The boys really love it, except for Nathan. He doesn’t love being in the constraining life jacket the whole time. He can’t really even move and it is hard for him to get comfortable. He was a trooper though.
We forgot the camera both times – I was so bummed because I missed a lot of great photos! Note to self: Do NOT forget the camera next time!!
Sunday was a nice relaxing family day as well – went to church early and then visited family. Sunday night Tyler slept over at Grandma and Grandpa Holmes’ house with his cousins, Patrick, Karli, and Raegan. He had a blast and was so nice. He is really such a sweet little guy – so pleasant and fun!!!
My family was out of town so we didn’t get to spend time with them – missed them. But we hooked up today for lunch because they were dying to see the boys!!
Nathan has his eye doctor appt. on Thursday. I am anxious about that. He seems to be doing better some days but still doesn’t make great eye contact up close. I keep thinking he just needs to get a little older but he really should be making good eye contact by now. He has a little cousin, Taylor, that is 2 weeks older. It seems that Taylor has been making great eye contact for a long time and I kept thinking that Nathan just needed 2 more weeks to "catch up" and then he would be doing the same. But then the 2 weeks would pass and Nathan wouldn’t be "catching up". I know that you shouldn’t compare because all kids develop at different paces, but you do have to go by a certain standard to watch for things that could be wrong. And then there are days when he seems fine and I think that the eye doctor is going to look at me and think I am crazy…. but I do feel that it is better to be safe than sorry and I have just had this feeling that something is not quite right with him. I think you have to go with your instincts and check things out. And of course I will be more than thrilled if he does say that everything is fine and I am just worrying for no reason…
Anyway, I am now officially rambling so I will end this entry and get going on some things I need to do… I need to get some photos edited and printed so I can start on some layouts.
But, please keep Nathan in your thoughts and prayers and I will update after his appt. Thanks!!
