Hello there! I don’t know if I’ve ever met someone that doesn’t love Fall! There’s just something about it that feels so welcoming and it seems like everyone is ready for the change in seasons and all that autumn brings along with it! Today we have a beautiful scrapbook layout for you from design team member, Kim, celebrating FALL! Kim’s use of leaves as the focal design element on her page definitely screams Fall to me, but what I love is that her color combination is a little unexpected. And yet, even though it’s unexpected, it is so current and on trend and so so fabulous! Oh and it’s super inspiring too!! It’s a great example of the fact that you don’t have to use “traditional” Fall colors to decorate for Fall or to scrapbook about it either! Use your creativity and follow Kim’s lead by bringing in some unexpected and cooler shades of blue and lavender. It definitely works!! Read on to find out how she created this gorgeous layout!!I just love it when the seasons change! It’s an automatic refresher for me. You start to see new colors and new inspirations everywhere. It’s so magical to see how nature responds to the change in climate. And we get to be inspired every year as the seasons change. I find myself always exploring new colors and infusing colors I’ve used before with new ones. This layout was just that. The new fresh colors in the Gather collection were so fun to use along with purples and lavenders. They look so pretty together here.
I dusted off my silhouette die cut machine and cut a bunch of leaves and butterflies to use on lots of projects and all the Gather collection papers work perfectly! I painted my background first with gesso and then a little purple ink. I love to get a little white on there before it dries and that way you can spread it around to create a lighter area on your page. Then I sort of scattered my leaves around, along with some watercolored leaves, kind of framing my page. Perfect to surround a small photo. The lighter color on the page also leaves lots of room for journaling!
Happy fall everyone!
