Hello there! I’m super excited about today’s blog post from design team member Amanda Rydell. Sometimes the simplest of projects pack the most punch and that definitely rings true here! Amanda is sharing a great tutorial for making darling DIY notebooks with the new Shine collection! I think they would make the perfect gift for my friends of all ages, including my daughters and their friends! I am definitely making a whole bunch of these asap!!
Hi Friends!!! Today I thought I would share with you some notebooks I recently made for a gift. I made them for a little girl, but now I want to make some for myself. If you are a list maker like myself, these DIY notebooks are just what you need.
To start making the notebooks, I started with a note pad which I got at Office Max. I bought them for under $10 in a big pack. They come in a variety of sizes. The size I am using today is 3×5.

STEP ONE: Using my paper trimmer I cut my 12×12 piece of paper to 3 inches wide.
STEP TWO: Add adhesive to the back of the notebook and place onto your patterned paper.
STEP THREE: Fold over your piece of paper and trim to where the paper hits the bottom of the notebook.
Once I had my paper folded over and cut, I gathered some embellishments and stickers to add to the top front cover.
I wanted to keep the front of my notebooks simple. I love adding lots of layers, but knowing how much these notebooks will be used I thought It would be best to keep things basic, in order to prevent embellishments and stickers from falling off.
I think I need to make another stack of these notebooks! They are so easy to make and are great for gift giving.
