Emily Jane’s Room

Finally….. I know…. it has taken me forever to get these photos on here. I took them before I had her but just didn’t get them up.

This room was really a labor of love. It was a lot of hard work but I truly loved every minute of it and didn’t ever feel like it was “work”! I have been dreaming of the day that I would get to do a little girl nursery and it finally came true!! I started with a vision in my head and piece by piece it became a reality! I ordered the bedding and started collecting things – a brown rug, the lamp, picture frames, the curtains, the little bird figurines. My husband and I painted the walls pink and then I drew the birds onto the wall over the crib and painted that. I wanted the birds to seem like they are watching over her as she sleeps so I drew the tree coming up the one side of the crib and then the branch arches over the crib. Once we decided to name her Emily, I started collecting the E’s and painted the unfinished ones brown. Then to finish it all off, I created some artwork using the colors from her bedding – the canvas over the dresser and the two canvases that hang above the rocking chair. Now, the only thing missing is that I need to fill the frames with photos of her!

My husband is not a fan of yours right now because you are SO making me want my little Emily Jane right now! That nursery is beautiful and I have always been back and forth on soft pink and brown or bright pink, orange, lime and aqua colors, but your room has me leaning toward the softer pink and brown definitely! You rock!
