When I first read through today’s project from design team member, Amanda, I had a little chuckle when she said she found an old box that she didn’t want to throw away. I am always saving little boxes like this because they are totally perfect for making cute little packages! It’s so fun to make unique DIY gift wrap, but most times, I need a little box to put the gift in first and nobody wants to have to go out and buy boxes if you can just save different ones along the way! I especially love saving boxes that are already a great color or that are plain kraft or white, because then you don’t have to cover the whole thing. You can keep it fairly simple, but it is still handmade, which is always more thoughtful and meaningful in the end! Read on for Amanda’s tutorial for making a darling DIY gift box!
Hi friends, today I am excited to share with you a little gift giving DIY. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it’s way easier to just throw a gift in a gift bag and call it done. I’ve been there and sometimes we just need something quick.
However, today’s DIY took less then 15 minuntes and turned out so cute!
Recently I found an old box that I didn’t want to throw away. I love recycling boxes and reusing them for gifting. To create this gift box it will only take a couple of easy steps.
1. Gather your favorite patterned papers from Maggie’s newest Carousel collection.
2. Open your box and measure the insides. Once you have your measurements take your pattern paper and cut it to those measurements.
3. Insert your patterned paper into the box making sure it fits and lays flat. Using adhesive, glue the papers to the inside of the box.
Give yourself a high five!! You just made a cute gift box.
Now that the inside of the gift box is ready, I finished my project by decorating the top. I used paper and embellishments from the Carousel line to complete my gift. Instead of adding a card inside the package I used a glassine envelope and added it to the top of my box. To close the envelope I added a bow sticker.
