DIY Framed Art

Hello!! I love following Kim’s instagram feed because she is always showing such lovely sneak peeks of her watercolors and painted floral die cuts. They inspire me every single time!! And my favorite is when she takes those and mixes them in with scrapbooking products to create such beautiful DIY framed art for her home! I simply can’t get enough!! Read on for some tips and directions on creating similar pieces for your own home!

Hi everyone, Kim here to share a few framed projects I created using the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection.  If you’re like me you have lots of empty frames around that need to be filled! I love creating a gallery of photos and artwork on a wall, and what better way then to fill them with pretty papers and embellishments.

To create these DIY framed art I cut a few papers out to fit the frames and then began to layer other coordinated papers on to them. The papers all go together so well that it’s just matter of preference what you use.

I especially love the gold papers in the collections and they work well as a base for your project. To finish I layered a few watercolored die cuts in the corners.  I love to add little pops of color in this way. If you have lots of cuts, paint them in different ways and just layer them. It’s so fun how they look all together! Have a good day guys!

Happy Tuesday!
