Stephanie came up with this darling idea and I am loving how quick and easy it is. But at the same time the result looks so custom! Cute clips for your planner are big right now and it is awesome when you can take some supplies you already have and create your own DIY planner clips! I’m definitely going to make these to use not only in my planner but on my scrapbook pages as well! I’m planning to make a few of them at once so they are already done and ready to go! It’s January and one of my very favorite things to do at the beginning of each year is to set up my planner and get all organized!
This year, I’m using a few planners for a few different things – one for goal setting, one for personal and one that’s work related. I like to keep them all close by for lists, notes, ideas, etc….and it’s always SO much fun to jazz them up and decorate them!
For my personal planner, I decided to use some of Maggie’s Shine collection to create an “intro” page into my planner. For the front page, I used a piece of patterned paper with a piece of the dot transparency overlaid onto it. I love the look of the two papers together and I think the black and white polka dots compliment the colorful, playful dots very well! To personalize this page a little, I added a large gold “S” from the Shine collection and a pretty pink tassel!
To help keep up with my current page in the planner, I used the adorable sequin stickers to create DIY decorated paper clips! These are SO easy to make and they are just so cute in the planner! They would also be the perfect addition to a sparkly layout or even a Project Life pocket!
I’m sure there are several different ways to create decorated paper clips, but today, I thought I would share with you how I made these pretties. All you need are some Shine sequin stickers and a few paper clips!
Step 1: Keeping the stickers on their transparent background, cut out the shape you want to use to decorate your paper clip. (It’s hard to see in the photo, but I cut a transparent square out around the heart shaped sticker).
Step 2: Trim around your shape making sure the sticky part of the sticker stays covered.
Step 3: Slide your paper clip between the sticker and the transparent backing.
Step 4: Use a needle & thread or a sewing machine to hold the paper clip onto the sticker (the sticker backing just keeps the sticker from sticking to your pages). You could also use a mini stapler here if you didn’t want to break out your sewing supplies!
And lastly, add them in to your planner! I love the texture and sparkle they add to the pages!
