DIY Polka Dot Stamped Bags

One of my favorite products from the Confetti collection is the set of muslin bags that come with a polka dot stencil. I had been loving the look of these DIY embellished bags for a long time and every time I went to make one I kept thinking there has to be an easier and quicker way than stamping or painting each little polka dot on, one by one!! It was always just so time consuming! Those wishes and dreams (and frustration) are what inspired this product!! Now it is so easy to make these DIY polka dot muslin bags yourself and quick too! Keep reading today’s blog post from Amanda to see how to make them and also how to decorate them even further to make the most darling little gift bags!

Hi Friends, Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all enjoying the start to your summer. Today I am excited to be sharing with you a fun and easy DIY using the polka dot stencil and canvas bags kit from Maggie’s new collection. If you have ever tried making polka dot bags before, you know it can be rather tricky. I love that these bags in the Confetti collection come with a plastic polka dot template. If you look close enough, you can see it laid on top of my canvas bags in the photo below. Each pack comes with 4 bags and the plastic template.

It’s really simple using the kit because it takes the guess work out of it and lines up all the polka dots for you! So easy! Just lay the stencil on top of your bag and then paint over the stencil with your favorite paint. Then when you peel up the stencil you are left with all of the polka dots perfectly lined up!

TIP >> When stamping the polka dots, use a sponge stamper rather than a paint brush.

Once my canvas bags dried, I attached some ribbons and lace embellishments using my hot glue gun. I originally wanted to use my sewing machine, but with the bags being small, hot glue worked the best.

Next I wanted to give the bags an extra pop of color and decoration. I love using cupcake wrappers as a way to add layer and textures to my projects. After crumpling the wrapper center together I hot glued an embellishment to the center.

Using a mini clothespin clip, I attached the cupcake wrapper bows to the polka dot canvas bags.

These bags were so fun to create and they are the perfect size for a gift card!

Thanks for letting me share my project with you today! I hope it inspires you to try these DIY polka dot canvas bags yourself!

Happy Tuesday!
