My cute friend Amanda makes the most adorable house pillows! She made some for my girls last year and they are still my very favorite thing in their room!
(More photos from this shoot here.)
Every time Amanda would make a batch of these pillows to sell in her shop, they would be gone in a flash!! We felt very blessed to have not only one but two of these cute things!! Well, now everyone can make these darling house pillows because Amanda partnered up with Hazel and Ruby to create a DIY house pillow kit for Jo Ann Fabrics! It is part of their new Crafternoon series.
The supplies to make this darling house pillow come in a kit along with instructions. Everything is all cut and ready to go, with simple easy steps — making it super doable for even a beginner! It’s also a project that you could work on with a child. Lizzy helped me stuff the pillow and she kept saying that the cotton looked like a beard! She would hold pieces up to her face and we would laugh at her funny beard creations!
You can create the house pillow exactly as it is shown, and you can also add in some other things if you are more experienced. I added a few pieces of trim to create curtains in the top window and to add a fun border around the bottom window and door. One of my favorite things about this is that it is meant to look handmade so you don’t have to worry about it being perfect! It shows the love that was put into the project!
We are gifting this house pillow to a very special niece for her birthday! I hope that she loves it as much as my girls love theirs from Amanda!
