It’s not quite feeling like fall here in Arizona yet but I am loving seeing snippets of the change in season from everyone else on the internet and social media! It definitely makes me anxious for cooler weather, jeans, boots, cardigans and jackets! I just have to wait a bit longer than most of you! In fact one year in January, Emily looked up and saw that the leaves had changed on our trees and she exclaimed “It’s finally fall!!!” I thought it was such a cute sentiment and so entirely true of our climate!! This DIY fall banner that Stephanie is sharing with us today is so cute and is also making me excited for the change in weather to come!! I would love to create one of these for our home, although I might have to use fake leaves! haha!
Fall is my very favorite time of the year!! I love the leaves all over the ground, the falling acorns, and of course boots and jeans! I love to decorate our house and wanted to bring part of “fall” inside this year, so I thought I would create a fall banner that could display our leave findings, as well as some fall photos.
This pretty little banner was so simple and easy to make! And it looks amazing in our entry way! I love catching a glimpse of it as soon as I walk in the door. I used a 12×12 piece of the Styleboard cork paper and some letter stencils to cut out my banner title. The cork paper is so beautiful and just screams fall!!
The paper is too delicate to cut on my silhouette, but I found hand cutting to be so easy and therapeutic! As you can see, I left out of the opening of the “A” and “O” to keep it simple, and I really love how the letters look!
I used bakers twine and mini clothespins to hang up the letters horizontally, and then added three vertical pieces of twine for my photos and leaves.
My kids are always picking leaves from our yard and now they can just clip them right onto our banner! I’m sure our strings will be super full as fall continues!
In between the leaves, I randomly clipped up fall photos from last year. My children always love seeing photos of themselves, especially when they were younger! I will likely add up another few pieces of twine throughout the season to include some current fall photos!!
Thanks so much for joining me today!! I hope this simple banner inspires you to add a little touch of “fall” to your home!
