DIY Cute Covered Notebook

Summer is officially upon us here in Arizona! The kids are out of school and we are swimming a ton and downing more popsicles than we can count! In fact I am enjoying one as we speak! Yum! The project that Amanda is sharing with us today is perfect for one of those lazy summer days where you want to stay inside to escape the heat! It's a fun and easy DIY craft to keep yourself and/or those kiddos busy!! She is showing us how to cover a basic notebook with patterned paper and some of the Styleboard embellishments. Such a fun idea to turn an inexpensive journal into a custom and darling keepsake!

Happy June friends. I can’t believe we are  already enjoying the beginning of summer.  With the start of summer vacations, road-trips and nature walks, I thought I would show you today how to create a fun journal project to make with/for your kids, or even yourself.

To begin, I bought a notebook from target in the school section. I found this one on clearance for .25, but they are usually under $1.

Step 1: Using your glue runner adhesive, go around the edge of  your notebook. I also did a few strips down the middle.

Step 2: Line your paper up to the binding edge of your notebook. Press down on your paper to crate a good bond.

Step 3: Flip your notebook open, using an X-Acto knife trace around the edge of your notebook, removing the extra paper.

Step 4: Decorate the front using coordinating styleboard collection accessories.

Using the same process as the front, I also covered the inside and back pages.

This project is perfect for those  “I'm bored" days. And how fun to create with such fun paper you and your kids will both love!!!  I made this notebook for a birthday present, and now itching to make myself one.
