Hello and happy November! Today we have a darling DIY altered notebook from design team member Jessy! I don’t know about you, but I tend to buy notebooks all the time! Whether I need them or not, they seem to call my name! I like buying decorative notebooks but I also love to buy plain notebooks – black, white, gold and kraft are my favorite – and then decorate the covers. Jessy is teaching us how to make a super cute one today using some products from the Shine collection. These make a great gift for a friend or a fun craft to do with your kids! My girls absolutely love making these notebooks and decorating them just how they want!
Every now & then, I really enjoy altering projects. It’s a good shift when I want to take a break from creating scrapbook layouts. It sure is refreshing to the soul! This round, I decided to alter a notebook.
This project is fairly simple. First, I started by adhering the black and white stripe paper. Next I created a tag by using patterned papers and slowly added on the embellishments in this order: doily, vellum, frame, gold alpha & stickers.
Layering has been one of my preferred techniques whenever I create. It definitely gives a very interesting outcome to my creations. I love how all the layering turned out so well on this notebook. Just so perfect for the classy black+white+gold combo! And that 4″ beautiful gold alpha sure adds to the classy look of my notebook 🙂
Finally, with touches of gold mist splatters, I completed the look! It goes very well on a black cover & kind of reminded me of the twinkling stars in the sky too!
Happy Tuesday Friends!
