Thank you all for the love and sweet messages about my new SHINE collection! There’s always such a great energy and excitement around the release of a new collection and I am thrilled with your positive response!! The design team girls are equally excited and even though the products are not quite in stores yet, we were able to send them each a few things last week! We wanted to get going on some fun projects for you so that you’ll be inspired and ready to go when the collection does start showing up in stores!
Amanda pulled out a couple of her favorite papers from SHINE and used the phrase roller stamp to create some quick and easy, but absolutely darling DIY gift tags. Below she shares the step by step along with some good tips too! I know I’m inspired to go pull out my supplies (you can use any papers that you already have for this) and make a whole stack of these cute tags. They are perfect for tying onto a gift or adding to the front of a card!
Hi friends! What an exciting last week it was here on Maggie’s blog with the release of the new SHINE collection. It is such a bright and fun collection and I am having so much fun playing with all the papers and embellishments. When I first start working with a new collection I always love to make paper tags. I for one always need paper tags for gifts and notes, and two they are such a fun project to make when I am feeling overwhelmed with excitement by all the new patterns and accessories.
To start making my tags I used a white paper tag as my template and traced it on my patterned paper. Once I had it traced, I cut out the tag. Next, I created gold glitter hole covers.
Included in the SHINE collection is a pack of gold glitter stickers in a variety of shapes and sizes. Using the circle sheet I used my hole punch and punched a hole in the middle of the circle . The circle now was ready to be placed on my tag.
After I had the tags cut out and the gold circles attached I began stamping using the pink phrase roller stamp, also from the SHINE collection. I chose a couple different phrases for my tags. Since I am not always the best at getting my stamps to come out perfect on the first try, I used a full sheet of white paper and stamped all the way down until I got a couple that I thought were perfect.
After the stamp ink dried, I attached the stamp saying to my tags with my sewing machine.
I absolutely love how these tags turned out. I now have a bunch of them all set for the next time I need to wrap a gift or to include in a note to a friend!
So cute Amanda!! I know that anyone would love to receive these darling DIY gift tags!!
