Cute Travel Journal Ideas

One thing I love about Travel Journals is they are fairly small and easy to work with. You can work on a few pages at a time and then tuck it away with your supplies to finish later on. Then when you have more time, you can pull it out and keep going! Today design team member, Ulli has some cute travel journal ideas to share! She is showing us more of her travelers notebook about her trip to the Maldives! Read on for all the details!

Hi friends, some weeks ago I showed you two travelers notebooks spreads from our dream vacation at the Maldives. I also gave you some tips and tricks for how to create a travelers notebook. I’ve been working in my travelers notebook again and want to show you some of my ideas. I used a photo my husband took from the water plane during our transfer from the head island Malé to our little island. Then I journaled a little something about the location of this island where we stayed.

How to Make Make this Travel Journal Vacation Page:

• Coordinate the Scrapbook Products to your Photos – To make this travel journal page I’ve used only the colors from the photo – blue, turquoise and green. This is a very pretty color combination for scrapbooking.
• Remember to Use Mostly Flat Embellishments –  Therefore, I used only ephemera pieces, the stickers and clear stickers, some washi tape and the journaling runners, all from Maggie Holmes Sunny Days Collection.

Using Large Monograms in Scrapbooking:

• I love these super cute large die cut alphabet monograms from the Sunny Days collection and wanted to find a way to use them. They are very big and perfect to use them for the initial from your title. So I used the blue card with the big “M” for my title – the Maldives.

Cute Travel Journal Ideas for Decorating your Travelers Notebook Pages:

• Use Washi Tape as a Border – I glued the blue washi tape with the white dots down the page on the right. This makes a fun washi tape border to separate the two pages.

• Add Journaling – I typed my journaling on the computer and printed it out. Then I cut it down to size and glued it on the right page.
• Add Details with Label Stickers – I also typed and printed the title and travel dates. Then I glued the one with the title on the mint green clear sticker label from the Sunny Days sticker sheets. I glued two of the little palm trees beside it and they are so perfect here. Don’t you think!?

• Include your Favorite Photos – NextI added my photo of the Maldives under my journaling.
• Decorate your Travel Journal Pages – Sunny Days has a lot of cute stickers with travel phrases like “A Moment to Explore” and “Not all who wander are lost.” I also added some mini heart stickers in blue and green.

Maggie Holmes Journaling Runners:

I love these  Sunny Days Journaling Runners. They are easy to use and perfect for Travelers Notebooks. They are small and you can put them easily in a little pencil case for your scrapbooking on the go kit!

How to Complete this Cute Travel Journal Page:

• On the left side I added the cute little floral tag with the date of the vacation on it.
• I also added some clear stickers and used the journaling runner. Then I glued the bird on the top of this page.
• The little golf cars stickers are perfect to document a journey to a lonely island. I love the playful look of them.
