Hello! I have a darling project to share with you today from guest designer Sandra Dietrich! I fell in love with these super cute embellished storage drawers the instant I saw them! We all love to be organized, and why not take it a step further and make your storage solutions cute at the same time? Read on to find out how!
I’m Sandra from Germany. I live with my son and my husband in the wonderful city of Leipzig. I started scrapbooking in 2011. Scrapbooking has helped me to become more aware of my life and that of my family and also of my personal growth and development during the past years. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Maggie in person during a workshop at Scrapbook Werkstatt in Germany in July 2013.
I wanted to create a unique and pretty storage for my embellishments that could also be used as a nice piece of decoration on my scrapbook shelf. I wanted the bookend drawers (from Kaisercraft) to look white, bright and cute!
First, I used white acrylic paint to paint the frame. Then I glued papers with different colours and patterns to the front of the drawers. I assembled embellishments from older and newer Maggie Holmes Collections on my table and decorated the fronts. I also used some white sewing thread here and there to make the embellishment clusters look more fluffy and interesting. I used glue dots and a heat gun to attach the embellishments to the drawers.
I also used my Silhouette Portrait to cut out some words (stars, wood and stamps) from adhesive gold foil. I have some really tiny stamps that fit perfectly into the drawers. I like that this project is pretty and handy at the same time. I can put it on my scrap table to have embellishments within close reach and it looks nice at the same time. I really like how the project turned out and it’s one of my favorite DIY projects I’ve done so far!!
