My space is featured in the issue and it is actually now a little different but many of the same storage solutions are the same. For me, my room is always changing and evolving because I really love the actual process of organizing! So every time I do a purge and a little deep cleaning in here, I tend to change things up a bit and try out different ways of organizing/storing things. It's all part of the creative fun right? :)
Here are a few more recent pictures of my current space. I've added lots of cake plates and tiered storage pieces to my room because they are perfect for storing all of my mists and paints, etc.

I guess one of my favorite things to use for organizing is jars. My kids eat a lot of Trader Joe’s apple sauce I think the jars it comes in are cute so I keep them, spray paint the lids, and use them to store ribbon, buttons, brads, etc. I have them all displayed on shelves in my craft room!

May 11, 2011 at 4:15 pmI love to be organized. I just have trouble keeping organized. There always seem to be just too much *stuff*. My favorite and best organizing thing I’ve done is in my girls’ room. They share a small 10×10 room, so to keep things from getting too tight, I removed their dresser completely and installed a basic closet organizer. 2 hanging rods on each side for each girl and a row of shelves down the middle for all their folded clothes. I can see what they have (and will need) and when the older outgrows something, it just gets moved to the younger’s side. ALL their clothes can be stored in it. No more bins of *grow into* or *out of season* clothes! It has worked out so well for us. Plan on doing it in our boys’ room soon too.

Clear bins I organize my embellishments by type (i.e rub-ons, flowers, etc.), metal dvd holders I use to store my paints, glass jars to store more embellishments such as buttons, brads, loose flowers. I love organizing and really can’t pinpoint one item because I need them all to reign in the chaos that happens in my scrap space.

May 11, 2011 at 5:49 pmI just moved from a house to an apartment so I’ve lost my craft room and gained a craft closet in the nursery!! My storage is ALL vertical for this reason. LOTS of stacking items with the base being a cabinet I got for free on the side of the road!
I’m also big on limiting what I purchase. If I don’t think I’ll use it right away, it doesn’t go in my cart.

May 11, 2011 at 6:40 pmI LOVE your tiers!! So pretty!! If I come across anything that I love that will hold anything, I hold on to it and I usually find a space for it and items to store in it. I had an old spice organizer that I did not use anymore so I kept the little jars and the organizer which now hold all my eyelets, pins, buttons, any small items that I need to keep together. The clear jars make it so easy to see what I have on hand.

I have my own craft room so I am able to do this but I put tiny nails up on one wall and hang my cookie cutters! Not only did I free up a TON of space but I cannot stress how awesome it is to be able to quickly see what cookie cutter I need!

May 11, 2011 at 10:45 pmI think I really need this issue because I dont have a proper scrapbook area and I hope to get more ideas from this book. Before I started scrapbooking, I do my own earrings. But I do not hang them in the open due to dust and tarnish effect. So I store them in ice cubes trays..i.e if your earrings are big ones. I bought those with covers and stack them up in the cupboard. Still easy to move around and earrings are as good as new!

My favorite way to organize is my big cookie jar container. It is a big clear jar that I throw all my mis matched left over embellishments and I can see what I have in there!

Then I just keep rotating as I get more art completed! I also display my mini books in the rod Iron plate holders! I like the one that has 3 plate holders, for lots of project displays….THanks again!!

The other favorite is the ribbon holder that he made for me out of an old magazine holder – putting in dowel rods for ribbons. But I still need help organizing the rest!

I cut a slit on the side of the box where I’ve unrolled part of the riboons so that it hangs outside the box just like Martha has. Not a great one but at least keep my ribbons from going everywhere:-)

May 12, 2011 at 6:20 pmLove your space!! One of my best organizing tips lately is to hang a clear shoe bag over the door to the laundry/mud room. I use it to store hats, mittens, gloves in the winter and sunscreen, mosquito spray, etc in the summer! Easy for the kids to reach and little mess!

May 12, 2011 at 8:04 pmSomething that has helped me a lot is to photocopy all of my stamps and put the pics in clear plastic sleeves in a three ring binder, with dividers for backgrounds, sentiments etc. This way instead of having to pull everything out to see what I want to use, I just look thru my notebook.

May 12, 2011 at 8:40 pmI love to decorate my studio with vintage toys, some of which I repurpose for clever storage. Take, for example, my buttons. I found a great vintage glassware rack (with a handle) that holds 6 glass tumblers. I removed the tumblers and replaced them with play-doh containers! They’re cheap and cute and obviously have different colored lids…perfect for sorting and storing buttons. And it’s easy for my little grandkids to use them too. They glue buttons on cardstock to their heart’s content, and when they go home I soak them off and put them back in the play-doh containers….ha! Love it.

May 13, 2011 at 9:38 pmI love those cake plates! My best tip is to use the same type and style of container as much as possible. I use CD boxes from IKEA and photo boxes from Michaels. This means they stack nicely so maximize my use of available space. This also allows my focal pieces to stand out in comparison.

I have major all or nothing disorder and beings my oldest son is in 4th grade well… and I have 2 others in school and another baby. Hello Janna…It’s always good to start SOMETIME!!! I believe these hoops were originally meant to be used as macrame purse handles. Each hoop holds 30-40 different ribbons and the hoops hang on pegs on my wall, creating a beautiful rainbow of color. Surprisingly I do not have trouble with them tangling. One of my favorite benefits is the fact that I can grab one hoop, the pink one for instance, and quickly layout a few different choices of pink ribbon to decide which I prefer for the project, without unrolling each ribbon roll. I would really love a copy of this new book as I work on organizing the rest of my room. Thanks for the chance!

We’ve used a stack of them to grow avocados from pits (fun for my toddler to do with us) and some for glasses or vases. The rest wind up holding nails or beads or buttons or cards. Love.
