Hello! I’m excited to start sharing the photos and details from Be Crafty Minneapolis with you! It’s always so much fun to see the pictures and to relive the event through them! And it also makes me want to jump on a plane and go back! Amanda and I have been talking about me going to Minnesota for such a long time and it was fabulous to finally make it happen!
We talk and scheme and dream and plan for these events for months and it is super rewarding to see our visions come to life. We also have a blast together so it’s like a big recharge for my crafty, photo taking, thrift shop loving soul when we are together! More photos of that to come!
Our theme was centered around vintage books, inspired by my paper line with Crate Paper >> OPEN BOOK. We gathered vintage books to decorate the treat table and around the supply book shelf. From there, we kept things simple using balloons and honeycomb balls from Shop Sweet Lulu to add a few pops of color.
Quick Tip >> This vintage book paper display would make a great inexpensive photography background! We used washi tape to put up all of the pages and that way they come down easily without ruining the wall.
The amazing Melissa from The Faux Martha spoiled us with her yummy and cute handmade confetti sugar cookies. The cookies were stacked high on a cake stand which was placed on the vintage dresser. Pink lemonade was served in glass milk bottles with pink striped straws.
Supplies were placed in baskets and vintage milk glass containers throughout the studio. American Crafts and Crate Paper supplied a variety of the Open book collection papers and accessories for our main project >> DIY planner made from a vintage book!
The dreamy book case display is right by the crafting tables so it made sense for us to house all of the supplies right there. Not only does it make it convenient for grabbing things as you need them, but it made the whole area come to life with all of the fabrics, tickets, tags and yarn!
Once we introduced and taught the projects, we set the ladies free to begin crafting. Within a matter of minutes we had books, patterned papers, ribbons, fabric, embellishments, pretty paint and more all over the studio. It’s such a great sight to see everyone in their own element, working and being creative while also chatting and having fun with the other ladies!
We were all gushing over the pretty Behr paint colors! So many of the ladies had a hard time deciding which color to choose for their vintage book, including me!! I ended up mixing two of them together to create a unique shade of blue/green that was perfect for me! It’s also safe to say that these cute little paint containers got lots of time in front of everyone’s cameras!! So much eye candy!
A BIG highlight for everyone is always the swag bags!!
We want to extend a very warm and sincere thank you to each of our amazing swag bag sponsors who spoiled everyone with their shop goodies. We sent everyone home with a cute painted swag bag full of amazing products. The bags were literally bursting and all of the ladies were so grateful! It was fun to see people pulling things out of the bags (like the Open Book ephemera) to use on their projects.
It was such a fabulous day in the Be Crafty studio working with and getting to know all of these sweet and darling ladies!! The best part for me was seeing how happy they were during the event and to see those that considered themselves not creative, branching out and trying new things!
